i think his point is that they already made akira less spammable. akira rush is a less attractive strategy. i never did it anywa so i dont know how much it has changed. ask funnystuffpictures, i believe he is a fan of akira rush.

Well i really dont consider a build time increase to be a nerf. IMO nerfing is when you make the ship weaker not make it so they take longer to build. Also i was drawing a comparison between the fact that they are both mainline cruisers.

true, they both are, and akira is alr made less spammable. It was not a "classic" nerf but spamming it got a bit cut down

the akira itself may not be weaker, but they werent aiming to make the akira crap, they just wanted to make it less boring to spam akiras. now akira spam is less attractive.

I had a 4v4 earlier today in which all my allies were killed... except the one next to me who rebuilt on the map high energy. We were klingon (me), 2 roms (alt and blazing_gig), and dominion (heike) against borg (butters, 2 feds (hal, and vasco), and romulan (romulan). About 45 minutes into the game, 20 generexes declaoked, along with 3 spheres, and a bunch of warpins, akiras, and intrepids. Our allies we're destroyed, so we gathered a small task force, destroyed the borg starbase along with a diamond in construction, and managed to leave with minimal losses. However, I saw that butters still had a constructor left, and I began to scout around for the secret place I knew he was gonna build a cube from. Sure enough I found another constructor, and a connection with a cube chasis. So I waited until it was beginning to build, and with 1 Vorcha, kebejq, and a kvort, I managed to destroy it before it could finish construction. We finally got a victory, but it was going to take a lot more to defeat (by this time) 50 generexes, 20 warpins, 20 akiras, defiants, sovs, avalons, phalanxes and more still in production. So what do I do? My allys had sent me all of their resources, so I started researching advanced everything, and got a moqbara station up. After 3 bortas's were finished, I started production of negh vars (all with their specials). Finally, after 15 minutes of waiting while doing a few small raids. Enemy forces converged my base. 2 full fleets of Federation starships, and a Tactical cube with a diamond :S. I used the bortas's on the federation fleet, taking out loads of ships, while I decloaked 12 negh vars, 4 vorchas, kvorts, qwa duj, charghs, and a kvorts. My ally also had about 30 generexes, so that cube was dead. With moqbara, the negh special, and bortas's, we managed to hold off the enemy and gain tons of experience for my neghs
. So for the next two hours, we fought 4 people on valiantly, through hordes of generexes, warpins, cubes, you name it, and managed to emerge victorious! It was a glorious day indeed for the empire, and Negh 'Var, after all is one extremely powerful ship!
A fan of the akira rush!!!!!
