You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

Right, but base damage is 20-30% less than pulses and torps, which is why beam ships are 'mediocre' against everything (jack of all trades, master of none) and thus why pulses excel against smalls, and torps against larges  ^-^

i never said that beam is better than pulse at small ships.

but vorcha has ok range, and its beam is quite strong, it never misses against small ships, unlike stuff with torps. its only medium sized so it will dodge some of the torps thrown at it. plus it has ablative armour, negating 50% of damage from shorter range attackers and isnt weak, it can take punishment. the vorcha is amazing at pwning small ships (its useful all round). and its special compliments this by being more useful against the fewer large ships u see.

Would it be too much to ask to elevate the Negh'Var to a medium range ship? I think there are a lot of Anti-Short ships late game that kill short range ships.

But if we are not gonna upgrade the range. At least give it more power. I suggest that maybe making the Ion Torpedoes able to disable weapons against large craft and stations. Or equip some pulses to do those jobs. Because I find that way too many late game ships have the ability to murder short rangers. And it was fine when the Negh'Var got its range upgrade at Rank 5. But that got taken away. And whats worse is that it has horrible defense value (does it actually decrease upon rankup? ).

I believe that what power it has is like the Norexan, good if you rush it. But its power rarely lasts.

it doesnt need more power, its got 50 offense already, and thats unranked :D

its already got its uses which it excels at. its a fast ship, and it murders long range stuff, like turrets. and its special is quite useful too.

if it gets range it will have to get slower. and if it gets more defense it will have to lose offense, then it will be a bland ship.

right now the klinks general ship is the vorcha, by the time neggies should be coming out the vorchas will rank and become what u need. the neggie shouldnt be your main ship, the vorcha should.

u cant rush neggies, their torp will miss against small ships. norexans on the other hand munch them with pulses. neggies are later game ships, when they rank they become even more of a station eater.

That's the second time you've stated that, and this will be the second time I'll tell you it never had that  ^-^ . You're thinking of the BortaS, for the second time.

But the specials on the Bortas are just sweet :P Bortas can be devastating.

I think what he meant was that the two shouldn't really be compared.  They do radically different things with very different purposes :).

However, if you were to set the two against each other, the Bortas would get BONED :D

If they nerf the vorcha then they need to nerf the akira too. If that happens what the fedrats come out of the woodwork.

I think the Vorcha is fine as long as isn't spammed vs. Borg or Stations (twice yesterday I sent Vorchas against a starbase and both times they broke its weapons from one use each of polaron torps, Borg are even worse off if they dont send a lot of ships.) Akira is not too great to come up against but it's more balanced than before.

No reason to nerf stuff that is balanced ;)

Even if a sub is broken on a Borg vessel their regeneration rate is so high that they will repair the damage rapidly.  They still have a better resistance to the Polaron torps than other races.
