I'm sorry, but you don't know what you're talking about. I keep a close eye on my network logs and unless I tell it to check for updates it never tries to access the network.

I didn't insult your intelligence, I just pointed out that you were wrong. ;)

then say that next time  .

no im not wrong, ad-aware is a spyware removal programe. i willl fill in that missing logic,
"its not a virus its ad-ware in the form of a browser toolbar. you have the option to not install it."
this implies it had spyware before Ad-ware spyware removal program was installed and removed it. so yes a spyware filled.

No it is not. The silly browser toolbar that it asks you if you want to install with it (that you can opt-out of) is the spyware. If you opt-out of installing it Adaware leaves DT alone as does Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

adaware and ad-ware are not the same thing. adware is the same as spyware.

Well... Adware does no harm to your computer.
Its just a useless program that displays ads.
They put it into the installer, they get some money, and you just choose not to install it.
I dont see any harm in that.

AdAware is like a Anti Virus program but for Adware/Spyware.
Adware is useless software that displays ads.
Spyware is a program that collects data on your computer and sends it to somebody.

actually i am fine with no-cd patches. that is your thing. however, in the removed thread some stuff was discussed we don't really like to see in the forums. i wanted to remove some posts out of it but ended up deleting the wrong ones, so i had to remove the whole thread. ;)

Indeed, Doca Cola even posted a no-cd patch for Fleet Ops - there's a link to it in the FAQs of the guide :)

If you can find a version of Daemon Tools from before they started selling it, when it was still freeware, those versions don't have anything shady in them.

yup daemon tools free version has no virus or malware in it.

it does have adware which you can choose not to install.

some antirootkit programs will detect it, but its a false positive.

@murius, its a shame your help thread got deleted because of somebody else. i believe your original question was about a nocd patch. you can find several on gamecopyworld.

on the issue of whether they are legal, i believe if you bought the game, then you can keep a copy of it. also if you bought the game i think its fine to use a nocd crack. unless the license agreement u agree to when installing the game specfically prohibits it. most nocd cracks are used to play illegally downloaded games though

Please don't discuss about unsupported features - the fact that it was deleted alone should tell you that you should not.
