@ Dircome: I really like that idea actually... maybe you can cloak your mining ships, but then they can't mine... or maybe even the construction ship, but then it can't build

yeah that would only make since if you started building a station or mining. you would give yourself away. also if they could cloak it would make the stationary cloaking generator more appealing. (EG your mining station is attacked. so you order your ships to cloak and wait for your defense ships to get there)
Also it would separate the romulan constructor from the fed one. giving each race a unique constructor.

A cloaked Construction ship can still build, I've done it many times.

I've done this too. But it's not very realistic to do so, since everyone can see the buiding grow.
I'd appreciate cloaked mining ships and construction ships, because I can't see a reason, why romulans wouldn't cloak hese too. I'd make them easier to rescue too and make them more individual, so it's most appropriate to me.

I think you misunderstood me there: I meant perhaps for balancing reasons it would be allowed to cloak

There's an ugly thought. Early in the game the rommies move a cloaked builder behind your base, and build a staryard. Later on, that staryard serves to put your base in a Pincer attack between what it's spit out, and their main fleet.

You can see the station building, meaning you can ani-cloak the area and board the constructor. Or just attack the station if it was finished.

They don't want it in your visible range. Station cloaks don't last long enough. They just want it on the other side from their actual base. Then, hell, they'd probably reveal which side of the map they were on just to keep your attention away from the place getting ready to dump a bunch of Generix and Serkas on your actual base.
