Greetings.

I have just yesterday, made a successful installation of ST2-FO, all went well, game starts up, I can build, I can mine... and there it ends.

My Probes/other battle type/recon ships refuse to move, albeit I do get a confirmation that they got the command.
For instance: I take a probe, give the order to Scout Area/Destroy Enemy Ships, but the thing won't even budge a milimeter.

Any advice, please?

Running 3.2.6
Win 7 X64 Ultimate
I5 2500
16GB
NGeForce GTS 450
RealTek HD

Thank you very much!

Wow.
50 views and not a single reply?
Shocking.

Thank you, Admin/Moderator, for moving this post to the right place, and apologies for the mistake.

maybe search crawlers are counted in views, so less people have seen it than you think.

i don't think anybody replied because we don't have a solution. sorry if you feel nobody cares.

could you clarify one thing, when you say you've given orders and they don't follow, have you tried just right clicking on empty space to give the basic "move" order? you didn't make it 100% clear.

I really don't know what the problem is.  It's possible that you have a bad install of FO and/or STA2.

Thank you for replying.
I did not take offense, I just found it strange, that several went inside, but none gave an answer...

Well, the commands work on the 'base making thingies', they work on the Collectors... but my other ships just sit put.
They give me the audio 'command received' comment, but there it ends.

Strange that 2 types of ships move, where the other simply seem locked to their spot...

What do you mean that "several went inside"?  And if it's related to specific ship types it could be a corrupted install.

i think he means that because the thread has 50 views, that 50 people opened it up and looked at it and decided not to post.

are you only playing as borg? try it as feds.

Ok, tried several reinstalls, nothing works.
Tried the CD install, he installs fine (in Safe Mode, refused in normal mode), but where the install went good, that won't even start up for playing.
Tried every possible compat mode, nada. (did too on the FO3).

FO3 start up, I can enter game, build my stuff, I can learn, the Collectors work...
The Probe and Detector just won't budge, no matter what I try.

Bizar that just the few ships meant for explore and combat won't budge (in NO race at all meaning it's not a Borg issue) where the REST operates normally.

Oh, and when I make a game, I get a red color for all (picked 4 others vs me and one another) but all stay red, no matter the team.
When I put on Random Color I get black, the rest seems to stay in red.
Not quite normal either, isn't it?

Thank you.

a2 refused to install unless in safe mode and won't launch?

whoa, sounds like everything that can go wrong has decided to do just that.

Definitly weird. It sounds like it's more than FO that's acting up. What are your system's stats?

Oop, missed that.
Well, that's more than enough.
If it's faulting outside the buildin exception catching it makes me think there's a problem in one of the reqired runtimes.
Is your .Net up to date?
What about the Visual C++ Redistributable?
What about DirectX?
