Thanks for the support at the moment I keep getting a
exception class  : EAccessViolation
exception message : Access violation at address 00621625 in module 'Armada2.exe'. Read of address 00000000.

error report when I try to run it but I will keep trying :)

I'm not sure to be honest, It could be something to do with Drivers available in Wine. Or Drivers on the Mac system, More likely it's an issue with Wine. Go through what is enabled in wine by checking winecfg and clicking the libaries tab and see what DLL's are enabled

Ok thanks. I will also try recreating your working version in ubuntu that way I can compare the differences and see what might be the problem

Well, from the exception, it looks like it's trying to access either a NULL (empty) block of memory or a protected block of memory. This could be an issue with the internal structure of Wine and/or Armada2.exe. I might try "switching off" the new loader used in 3.1.4. Look here for instructions on how to do that.

It seems to be an error when creating render targets. Might want to check your graphics settings and whatever D3D wrapper you are using.

@Atlantisbase: I already had the internal loader turned off. It wouldn't even start up if i try using the new loader. I have tried the regular armada and a cracked version.

@Megadroid I will try using the different versions of DirectX thanks

Not so far but haven't tried all the settings yet... takes a while to try each one and have had to get some work done last couple days... but don't worry I do not believe it is futile.

There is a short term problem that I forgot to mention. Tunngle is a no atm.

Regardless of Wine or Virtual Machine unfortunately :(

Interestingly I decided to play around with VirtualBox and I managed to get the Tunngle client to connect to the network, I think I may test installing Flops and messing with it and seeing what performance I can get. That would truly make FLops Cross platform.

Well I messed around with VirtualBox, Got Flops to install as well as Tunngle, basically loaded up multiplayer hosted a 4 way Merciless AI game to stress test for client side lag over the virtual machine. Ran pretty ok to be honest.

Only downside is that I was limited to 1280x960 but with decent performance running Flops in the virtual machine with tunngle working isn't bad.
