I am curious to know what this new engine is that was mentioned earlier? Is this basicly making another game into something that looks like armada or replacing the engine and still having sods and odf's and something that basicly looks familiar but has more moddable stuff?
It's called the ezEngine. It was first mentioned here and the ezEngine devs made their own news post here. Their site is here.
From some of the posts I think it will have SOD support but I'm not sure. ODFs are being replaced with XML, though. The new XML system should use less files to accomplish what ODFs did, too.
The project sure seems exciting. Shame there wont be more updates to FO for armada itself but maybe some others will make addons in the mean time. I had a few ideas to suggest, but oh well.
