Has anyone else had this problem? Move To Vault was apparently wrong, since FO is now screwed entirely. Anyone know about how to fix this problem that didn't exist the last 3 times I played 3.1.4 and only turned up today?

armada2.ldl cannot be renamed, Armada2.exe cannot be copied from elsewhere (computer seems to think they're Read Only). Stupid game worked before!

whitelist armada2.exe and send the file for analysis to the vendor of your anti-virus program ("false positive"). it's not a trojan

Uninstall the game again, exit your anti virus and reinstall the game, then rename your nocd patch to .ldl and replace the other armada2.ldl file and then it is patched and you can re-enable your anti virus.

I don't use a no-CD patch, I use a CD Image and Daemon Tools. I'll try reinstalling later, since that damn 'Move To Vault' option deleted Armada2.exe.

move to vault should have put it in avg's quarantine area. you should be able to move it back out.

Ok this needs to be fixed, after successfully installing the game and playing the first time my antivirus has finally got bored of me restoring the file so it deleted it, have now had to rename the ldl file back to exe so i can play the game.

Exiting my AV made no difference because as soon as it was restored it was deleted again and would not allow me to add this file to the whitelist.
File cant be added to whitelist if it isnt there.

turn av off (i dont mean exit, i mean switch it to off), reinstall fo, add to whitelist while av is switched off. Turn av on

it should be located in your quarantine. It's nothing we can fix, it's a false positive from some anti virus programs.

Im not reinstalling the game again and disabling the antivirus makes no difference now, once re-enabled it gets rid of the exe, restoring from quarantine last about 2 seconds then its put back, false positives can always be fixed, just need to find out what is causing anti-viruses to see this as a threat and fix that problem.

After restoring it from quantine, I just click 'Accept' when I tried to play (I think that's the other option it gave me) and now it seems to have stuck in the allowed list.

Hey all. I just logged onto my computer, and my AVG popped up and said it had found Malware in FleetOps:

Malware - (VirusName): Win32.Buzuz.gigd - (Path to file): C:USERS*user*DESKTOPFLEETOPSDATAARMADA2.EXE

I am just wondering if anyone else has found this, or if anyone can shead some light?

*For anyone else it might be in My Computer -> Activision

no
Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Armada2.exe technical side note (no-cd patches, virus alerts)
whitelist the file. send it to your anti-virus vendor for analysis (sometimes called "report false positive")
what AV are you using?

From what I've heard in other threads, it's just Virus Protection programs not getting along with the file. I've got the same thing.

yes, that is due to the nature of this loader. some anti-virus tools already have whitelisted it already.
VirusTotal - armada2.exe

you can manually whitelist the armada2.exe file until your AV vendor responds
