Hey guys! I'm newly registered to this place. Yes I'm a red shirt and yes I'm one of the few who survived long enough to retire! First off I want to say what a great game this is! If you guys tried to make a bridge commander mod…No, no, no, an entire new game (Maybe similar to what you've done with your FleetOps creation *hint, hint* *nudge, nudge* :shifty: ), with your team, the sky is the limit . You have single handedly restored my lost faith in Star Trek gaming. No crashes, no compatibility issues with my laptop whatsoever. OMG the voice acting (all of them), that chick that did the Tavara warbird voice, she has a sexy voice and the tone was perfect for a Romulan. Seems like most games (Jesus, If it's a Star Trek game, you can bet your buttery corn-hole its going to be an ongoing project that I usually lose after weeks of frustration) always need a patch or some kind of work around ultimately requiring hours of tweaking just to get it to run. This game runs better than armada 1 and 2, and guess what? ITS FREAKING BETTER THAN BOTH!!!! WHEEEE!...EEE!...ok… *WHEW* out of my system…I have but one issue my good sirs, there is a cell phone tone in the game. Recently I've been using headphones and I started noticing it, but I'm not sure if it race specific (As I am biased toward the Borg). I think it happens after an explosion, I'm not sure. The sound effect is definitely taken from a cell phone ring tone or text message tone for sure. I can't really spell the sound, but play for a couple hours with headphones on and I promise you will start to notice it, maybe even sooner than later. Anyhow, It really takes away from the immersion. Every time that sound effect goes off I can only think of my old cell phone it is really is distracting and doesn't belong in this game or in star trek at all, unless they come back to our time. (It is obviously your creation you can and will ultimately decide what belongs & what doesn't).

Like I said I noticed it when I started playing with headphones on, it happens during battle and after explosions. I haven't really pin-pointed it exactly, I've only noticed it very recently.

Scratch that *after explosions part*, It seems to happen once in a blue moon and most *frequently during large scale battles against fleets of ships. I'm hesitant to say *that because it might lead people to look for something that's not there. It VERY RARELY happens, but when it does A) I'm not listening for it when it happens therefore Its hard to pin point and B ) Its very noticeable. When I do hear its always been during long periods of game play, a game for me can last for a couple hours and I've only noticed while wearing headphones.

Hi and welcome to the forums :) Glad you are enjoying the game

Possibly.... it sounds like one of your ships has just leveled up - if you play as a non Borg faction and one of your starships destroys an enemy, they may get enough experience to get into the next rank :)
