It works now!

Had to re-install, un install about 4 times, mess around with UAC and DEP, mess about with compatibility, and it now works.. for unknown reasons..

If you're using Vista, this is the exact thing i did in the last few moments before it started working.

Set compatibility to Win 98/ME
DEP kills it
try Win 95 compatiblity DEP kills it
Remove Compatibility - Goes back to normal crashing
turn off DEP, reboot
It works!

or it did for me..

Hey guys. I had FO3.0 hanging up on me too. Turning off DEP for Armada and FO works for me.

yea, seems like when DEP enabled fleet operations doesn't start. i will try to find a fix for this issue if possible..
i guess defining a exception for armada2.exe in the data directory should work.

edit: found whats causing the issue, it seems to run fine now with dep enabled, but the code needs more testing. i'll include a fix for the next patch. in the meantime just put armada2.exe on the windows dep exception list

Honestly I would just try a format and reload windows. Should only take an hour or two and chances are Fleet Ops will play fine then.
