Hi guys, just downloaded the new 3.1.4 install, but when installed and I try to launch the game I get this error:
Fleet Operations has stopped working....

Check online for a solution and close the program?

Close the program?

I have Windows 7 64Bit so any help guys would be great

Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Armada2.exe technical side note (no-cd patches, virus alerts)

Maybe that helps? Did you check if your virus-scanner is blocking it?

I have the same Issue. I am also running Win7 64bit and I am sure my antivirus isn't blocking it. Since it does it on and off.

However for some reason when my antivirus is off. I can't select the existing .exe file, the file never pops up. when installing that is.

EDIT: Running in Compatibility Mode for XP SP 3 makes it crash when trying to load an instant action game.

Did you try following the Doca's notes there by any chance? :
delete the Armada2.exe and rename the Armada2.LDL file to "Armada2.exe". Using the loader is fully optional. Your only disadvantage will be the 2GB ram limit and some nice icons.

If not, perhaps a reinstall? I'm out of ideas after that I think  :sweatdrop:

Yeah I tried that. Didn't make any change. I personally have re-installed everything. Including the stock Armada 2 a good 5 times.

I do that and I get another error:

The program can't start because binkw32.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

Rinse and repeat?

Took it out of compatibility mode and used the old loader and now it crashes pressing Instant Action.

Even the original game with the 1.1 and the 1.2.5 patches gives the same error and will not launch?  :crybaby:

Does anyone still have the 3.1.3 installer. I'd like to revert back to that and try to upgrade again.

Its not an upgrade its a full install

I realise that but at least with 3.1.3 I can play the game.

Also to add one thing I probably should of mentioned earlier. I don't get any sound on the menu screens.

No sound at all or just no music?
