now we all love the em scube (except the rom lovers)

i love its claok detect ability. but i have two things to say about it

1) is it supposed to detect ships with advanced cloak? i detected a talon earlier whose owner says it had advanced cloak.

2) i was able to decloak a ship by forcing my em scube to fire on my own ships. now i understand that this makes sense, as the ship was "in combat" but i think thats exploitable.

also i noticed something weird. my enemy had the aforementioned cloaked talon lying around and i used borg nanites on it and it did nothing. the nanites were on it, but apparantely didnt harm it. maybe i missed i couldnt see the cloaked ship lol.

Yeah the "force-fire" thing is a little tricky.  I'm not sure if the Devs intended for it to be that way.  If they had I assume there would have been a function a little "cleaner" than force-firing on your own ships.

Although, there is really no way to decloak or detect a ship as Borg beyond that ...

Same with Klingons and Manul Targetting.

You know, I think that there will be new advancements in cloak detect when they release a fast-patch.  I wouldn't worry too much :).

And Talons don't have "advanced cloak" :P

EM Field is a cloak detect? The tooltip only says it acts like a shield...

The force-fire is a bug and has been fixed for 3.1.3.

Yes Boggz, the Talon does have an Advanced Cloak ;) (and yup, the ability is supposed to work on Advanced Cloak units, just like the Manual Targeting.)

The tooltip for the EM Module explains that it cloak detects, and once integrated it gives two passives on the Scube. :)

I'm not sure if Nanites are supposed to affect cloaked units or not --> seems they don't for some reason.

EDIT: forgot something

Why does only the module say that? The ship itself doesn't. I only checked the ability tooltip until you confirmed it does 'render hidden objects visible'.

They both say it: there are two passives listed on the Scout Cube - one says that it neutralizes passives, the other says that it neutralizes cloak when firing. :)

Wrong tooltip...

I have one question to ask. How are you supposed to find the last ship/ scout on a map with the current cloaking system? Some people like to tease and say, "Find my last ship hehe!", and, "If you quit, I win!!".

Bulld a massive fleet and force-fire every area of space.

yep the force-fire has been fixed for 3.1.3. The borg will get an active cloak detect to find the last hiding talon in the map (just as the Klingons)

not many ships can force fire on empty space. the serkas can. and some specials can. but that would take years.

currently for borg u can use the probes intel report to find where they are hiding. then take an em scube and something else there and force fire the em scube on the other ship to reveal it. as it stays cloaked you will directly hit its hull.

im sure the same goes for klingons with brels/vutpas

if you defeat an enemy who is in a team game they can keep a scout just so they can fly around observing i guess.
if they are the last player other than u then they should decloak and attack your base if u ask them to. if they wont then just quit and dont play with them again. keeping a cloaked scout when your oponent is having fun is boring and will only make u an outcast.
