When you build a node and then select an attribute (i.e. regeneration, beam, torp etc..) it takes away dilithium and tritium. However, if you cancel the node, the dilithium and tritium does NOT come back. I'm pretty sure this is just an error, not something intentional  :sweatdrop:

more or less that is intentional. there is currently no other solution to implement that feature. it is on todo to find a better solution there :)

Ah, thank you

Couldn't it work like a research option though (where stuff is refundable)? Or is that too hard to code...?

yep that would not directly match our needs, but we have some ideas how to solve the "borg cancel" issue

It seems that decomissioning the resource stations (I forget what they're called) that the res. assims. build doesn't get you back any of the resources from that either, which is a problem because the stupid things rarely show up where you want them to the first time around... :ermm:

In fact, I'm sure sure why you did the system for those stations the way you did at all... Why couldn't you just use the same method a construction ship uses, except have the station take no time to build? At worst you would have had to give the res. assim. two modes like the Dom worker ship to make it work...

I love the way the borg work tbh...

speaking of borg...
i played a few instant action matches now, 2 or 3 of them with a hard borg AI, and they never ever built a single cube o_O
only spheres and assimilators and scout cubes. no adaptors, cubes, pyramids, etc.
is it supposed to be that way? or is there a failure inside a script?

I (Dominion vs one Borg AI medium) didn't even get spheres... And they didn't really attack me either... From what I could tell, their ships just sort of meandered around the map, attacking me (and being pulverised by my fleet) when they happened to bump into me...

i played another IA match (me & medium borg AI vs. medium klingon & fed), and actually saw pyramids and a cube at the end of it (after an hour or so). but like 30-40 lower ships mixed.
it seems the borg are so cost intensive that you can barely send out ships without running out of supplies or ressources. and that should be cool, since their ships are pretty tough, but you get easily overrun by any medium AI in the early game (like in the first 10minutes), cause the other factions can buildup a good mixed fleet in the meantime.
i think this is a small balance issue. the supplies for the borg should be tweaked a bit or another techupgrade to boost the supplies a bit, like 3-5 every 20secs or the like. otherwise the base looks like one matrix, one tech building, 10 supply buildings. plus they have to expand fast, otherwise you run out of ressources after you build your first 2 scoutcubes.
so the overall idea is pretty cool. theres just a need of a lil tweaking.

Well... even though you are waaaay outnumbered, I would hesitate calling it overrun. The special weapon upgrades for Borg (slicer beam and overwhelming [?] shot) are veeeeery powerful. In fact, because special energy recharges so quickly, I've used one sphere against about (Dominion) 5 intercepters, 6 bombers, one battleship and a few bugs extraordinarily effectively as it is a one shot kill practically for everything but the battleship. The only thing I can't figure out is how to raise my priority faster (plus, where is it indicated?).

oh, i never used that slicer and the devastating attack thing. maybe thats why i had these problems. gotta try it out in the next run.
and the priority is getting bigger through built ships and theres one building that gives a priority boost in 3 steps

The Priority is the Little Borg Symbol beneath all the other Resources I think...

you're right about that ^^
