Le_deimos, you like diamonds but don't like cubes? Fascinating.

Only have experience with the Federation at this moment in time. But i'll give it a go.
Feds:
Mayson:
Monsoon, Intrepid, Remore, Sovereign
Risner:
Phalanx, Avalon, Monsoon, Intrepid, Remore
Tactics;
Artillery: Artillery seems a little weak at the moment, considering their weakness against normal ships due to flying around they have very little noticable effect against buildings. Take Steamrunner for example, while NICE in all truth Excelsior II's do the job just as well, they can fight normal ships and then by the time you reach enemy base you split of the officer ship and they bombard defences with artillery range?
Jousting Pass: With some ships it is good to keep them moving, but you want them to engage to the front. This is difficult in many ways as the fleet collides and the units don't move properly and before you know it you've lost all your defiants. A perfect example of this with the Feds is the Fed-Kling defiants... You want to do a pass blasting away with pulse phasers and then drop off mines before coming around disabling weapons (if needs be) and destroyed survivors.
Path finding on the ships needs to be improved to allow this type of tactic. I know the whole thing is 2D now but space is 3D so i pressume it wouldn't be all that difficult to do this?
There are some other things that will crop up but i will have to play some more at the moment.
