What's your favourite episode? How is romulan ale brewed? - Star Trek in general :-)

Valdore type - Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki

Valdore type, not class, there is a difference.

Simple Answer:

Norexean is the CLASS of ship (as Galaxy is a class of ship)

Valdore is Donatra's Norexean ship (as the Enterprise-D is a Galaxy class ship)

Thus, Valdore was just the name :)

Why do you guys KEEP misspelling Norexan?  I mean you are adding a whole 'nother syllable to it.

Is there another version of the name in another game or something?  Everyone keeps calling it Norexean and it drives me crazy.

Actually, it isn't exactly true.

Valdore is the name of the ship, right, but it belongs to an unnamed class according to canon. That's why Memory Alpha talks about "Valdore type". "Norexan" is a fan-based class name for the Valdore-type warbirds. As it's non-canon you can use it or discard it. But FleetOps wise, that ship is "Norexan class".

I still think it sounds like a medicine name. :)

That's not exactly true. If I'm not misstaken canon is only what was shown on screen, nothing else. Therefore the DS9 Tech Manual for example neither the card game are canon.

from memory alpha
A large body of licensed Star Trek works exists that, while approved for publication by Paramount, is not considered part of Star Trek canon. This includes novels, comics, games, and older reference books such as the Star Fleet Technical Manual.

But I found something interesting in one of John Eaves blog entries about designing the Valdore. He states when asked about the same mater the art department refered to this class as 'Valdore class'.

check it out here (commentary section):art of the romulan warbird valdore, (day one) « Eavesdropping with Johnny

    * The officially-licensed Star Trek Customizable Card Game refers to the Valdore type as the Norexan class. The Star Trek: Titan novels from Pocket Books classify the Valdore type as the Mogai class. This nomenclature has not yet been verified in canon.

Apparently card games do not count as canon. "Unnamed class" for the Valdore-type.

BUT, as I said, It is FO-canon that the class IS Norexan. Period.

It's become accepted cannon - Star Trek: Destiny and Star Trek: Greater Than The Sum also make use of the Norexan class as the Valdore

It's not high cannon, but it's not contradicted SOOOOO yeah :D

Star Trek: Destiny is a book series set in the standard timeline (not the JJ Alternate) post-nemesis, after the faceoff of the SuperCube in the SOL system.

Actually your English is amazing.

So great, it's called the Norexan Class and that's that.  Now we can all be happy and stop worrying about the name :D

I meant 'Star Trek: Greater Than The Sum'...

Ah, greater than the sum is a book about the Ent-E's adventure immediately after the events of the supercube. It involves the Q Continuum, the Borg, and a mysterious "living" galaxy where the planets are it's neurons. It's quite a nice read actually... oh, and Hugh makes a cameo in it!
