Okay, I am real confused. I heard the same ship given 2 different names. I have no idea which is the true name. Because this could matter in which name FO uses. Besides, shouldn't they use a canon name if they know it? ???

Anyway, what do you guys think?

In Star Trek Nemisis when Capt. Picard destroys the Schimitar the Romulan warbird "Valdor" tells them about incoming medical supplies. I don't know if this is what you were after but its what i remembered from the film. So its the name of the ship but personally i have no idea about the "norexean" as i have not heard that one before.

Valdore was the name of the single vessel (like Enterprise), but not the designation of the class (like Galaxy Class). There is no name given for the vessel type in the movie, but in the canon card game. We used that one

More about that cen be read here:

Sooooooo... to be honest the true name is uncertain.... Then how come in A2files the two names are used alternatively for the same class?

What does everyone else think?

I say the Class name depends on the race talking about it, the way the D'deridex/Warbird Class was called the B-type Warbird by Starfleet.

I once had the Norexean and Valdore Class as seperate designs, one being stronger than the other. One was also green while the other was brown.

I think that the Valdore class was the original vessel but the Norexan was a "parallel" class, maybe a prototype or just a very similar design that the Romulans used alongside the Valdore as an assistant vessel, like a tender.

Valdore-type, means that there is no canon name of the class, the only thing we know about the class is that there was a ship of that class called "Valdore".
Norexan is just a fanon name for the class that has stuck, for the most part.

From what I understand, there are three names for this 'class' of vessel.

The Valdore Class
The Norexan Class
The Mogai Class

Quoted from Memory Alpha: The officially-licensed Star Trek Customizable Card Game refers to the Valdore type as the Norexan class. The Star Trek: Titan novels from Pocket Books classify the Valdore type as the Mogai class. This nomenclature has not yet been verified in canon. (see: Valdore type - Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki).

I'd have gone with either the Norexan or Mogai, not the Valdore. We know that the Valdore was the Green Warbird, and not the brown one. In a realistic world, if either of those two Warbirds were the prototype (which I doubt) it would have been the Brown one. Many people state its the Valdore Class, as it's all they've ever heard. From their point of view, the Ent-E may be the Enterprise Class, and Voyager the Voyager Class (etc).

I'd be going with the Norexan Class though. The Valdore / Mogai I'd label as ships of the class.

Great idea! Why not have a slightly different version for each ship. The Valdore has lots of pulse disruptor, the Norexan had 1 torp launcher, 2 pulse disrupters, ans 3 beam weapons. The Mogai has several beam disruptor. Thats my idea at least.

Perhaps Valdore and Norexan could be refits of the same base-type. I love refitting.
