I have just started a new character (Starfleet Science) and have a little problem; there's two things I want to buy but cannot decide which to get. Namely an Oberth Class or Borg Bridge Officer.
I can't choose which, so maybe a few opinions on which is the smarter choice? I have 620 credits.

for 600 you could also get the Rhode-Island-Nova on the next rank...
otherwise I'd take the Oberth, because there are better officers than Borg-ones.

I had a similar dilemma. What you should do is sell C credits for dilithum if the ship you want can be bought with dilithum. If not then buy the cheapest one first and then use the dilithum exchange to convert dilithum to c credits. it takes around 250 dilithum right now(last week it was 215) to make a C cred, so it will take a while, but you can earn about 8000 dilithum a day. I am working towards the Jupiter costume set myself.
but if I were you, I wouldn't buy any ship that is not at least Adm. rank. You will not use it long enough to get your money out of it. The borg officer will be a better investment, IMO.

Funnily enough, I actually have a few explore missions lined up. One of which gets over 1,000 dilithium. Have nearly 10,000 dilithium at the moment.
A friend of mine mentioned it being possible to transfer dilithium between your characters, how does that work? The exchange was mentioned.

Only once a day.
You mean the "Explore strange new worlds" mission, that is completed if you take on and accomplish a regular exploration-mission (both missions have to be active).
For the regular explorations themselves, you don't even get a single piece of dilithium-ore.
Makes almost 1500 dil-ore of 8000 you can get a day.

The Chart the B'Tran Cluster is pretty much the same mission under a new name and also gets the same 1440 dilithium. That's about 2880 from exploration missions.

You can also get quite a bit for doing the Star fleet academy event. IT doesn't take too long and you can easily get over 2k dilithum.

How long should it take to get back 120 credits if I maxed out the dilithium events?
If I hadn't sold a couple hundred credits to get that Defiant, I could already have both...

Current exchange rate you need roughly 30.5k refined dilithium for 120CP
If you really max things out then about a week or so.

I was told that it depends on what is being sold in the c store. I expect it to go back down in a couple days when the cardie lock boxes are gone, but that is only if they dont replace them with something else stupid.

Don't bet on it. The Boxes are the only way to get the cardy. And there are still new players.
Just look at the exchange for the boxes. And I have 120 left I will sell if the price is good.
I think there will people that wants some cardi in some month

IMO the best way to get dilitium is from the space war event. Every three battles you get 1200 di. Also if you are the top scoring player you will get a random rare item. Every time i level up i usually spend some time there to get new gear.

True, but the price of items in the C store will go down, because I think they will stop selling keys. If not then you are probably right.

There is supposedly a new event as well where you space walk on an asteroid and mine dilithum yourself.
