oh my bad
more over
yah right they are rather old. evint with modern shild generators i doubt it could have the internal mass or power out puts to have like 17-28 offence and 15-23.
lol but yah i love the ship, so sexy and stream-lined

not necessarily. the Mirnada of old could certainly be reworked internally. groups like section 31 who are adept at refitting ships with experimental and forbidden tech could certainly find a way to boost output on thse shisp by sacrificing crew and standard equipment room.
it would be a nice addition to their style too. - an old and obsolete exterior that masks its revamped interior and true strength. rogues ahoy!

well it cant be to powerful because it would rival the miranda mk2
but if it had the same ability as the mk2 it could be very useful

I support the Miranda being a warp-in destroyer, it definately shouldnt be stronger than the MK2 though.
For those of you who think an older vessel couldnt be refitted over and over again, go watch "Emissary" Cmdr Siskos ship the Saratoga is a varient of the Miranda chassis and its internals are clearly updated to TNG standards. The main bridge is similar in style to the Galaxy class as is the corridors, suggesting that older starship hulls can be used with newer technology.

In answer to you question about the # of Miranda's. in Star Fleet. Developed as a complement to the refitted Constitution class in the late 23rd century.Note that they Refitted Constitutions and the Mirandas share many components. The Miranda’s ease of construction and adaptability meant Starfleet produced the vessel in large numbers. The Miranda-class could be customised for a variety of tasks, including combat, scientific research, support services and cargo transport.A Hvy Combat Version was the Soyuz class. The Soyuz-class was a border patrol ship from the mid to late 23rd century, whose missions included servicing remote outposts and policing spaceways. The Soyuz featured an innovative set of outboard sensor and phaser turrets, designed for the ship’s Neutral Zone patrol duties. However, due to limited resources and the only partial success of the experimental configuration, the Soyuz-class was withdrawn from service in 2288 in favour of its smaller yet
more versatile cousin, the Miranda-class.The most famous Soyuz-class ship is the U.S.S. Bozeman NCC-1941, commandedby Captain Morgan Bateson. The Bozeman was caught in a temporal loop
near theTyphon Expanse in 2278. The ship was freed 90 years later and reinstated into
Starfleet. Its crew took part in the battle which repelled the Borg incursion of 2373.

One thing I admired about the Mirandas of the Dominion War is that they were able to keep up with the Defiant and continue firing photon torpedoes. A far cry from the slow Miranda of the TMP era. The only thing that killed them was lack of heavy shields or any armor to speak of. Therefore, I think the Miranda served it's purpose well as an escort to the Constitution, Excelsior, and Defiant.

Escorting escort ships now, are we?
Heh, jk... Seriously though, having access to Miranda's would be awesome. Perhaps we need an entire new kind of warp-in-
"Cannon Fodder"...?

Miranda's in the show seem pretty fast at Impulse. Since Impulse is the only type of engine the Federation gets in FO, they'd be good for scouting ahead of the fleet.

I think the Miranda should be included in FO as well. The Miranda II can stay where it is but Id like to see SFC have a few more option with the warpin...Especially in regards to ships. perhaps you can have 3 warp in options at SFC. One being the Experimental ships...the 2nd being call in a random group of ships and the 3rd option being to call in a specific group of ships...In a way kinda like a "modular" style warpin selection...and dif ships u choose would use dif number of special slots....EX: A Miranda and Steamrunner could cost 1 slot each, an excelsior or Nebula costing 2 slots and Galaxy and Ambassador(soon coming) could cost 3 slots each. Thats just my idea of how Id like to see the Miranda be fit into FO.

interesting. but i wouldnt want to add specificity to the warp in. random is good. if i can specifically request ships, why would i go in for a random variant.
i would simply warp in 2 galaxies and a steam or excelsior early in game and rush

Hmm....maybe if upped the cost of the ships by one slot each..then it might add encentive to use the "random" feature..say galaxys cost 4 slots...yet u can only have 9 slots unless the random would grant u a bonus slot for the use of random...hmm....its just an Idea....personally Id like to have the choice just cuz I find I need dif ships at dif times in the game....sometimes I need artillery...sometimes fast attack...and some times I need some "ground and pound" type ships.

how about resources instead of slots. that would be a good incentive.
