X'ar Kha'an@xarkhaan    T'Var@xarkhaan    USS Evanescence for X'ar Kha'an  at moment not sure if ill discard the cruiser the light cruiser starter ship is USS Shiva  i probably will scrap the connie cruiser so i may name my next ship Evanescence as well.  T'Var is flying around in the USS Eversoris

I only have 1 character (Tyler@Adm_chambers), commander rank and currently flying a red Cheyenne Class; the USS Fairy Tail.

I doubt I'll use my Miranda (USS Vegeta) or Constitution Refit (USS Yao Hasegawa) anymore, but I'm keeping them anyway.

Since every else seems to be having fun I might pick up STO. I was looking at an engineering path but is the Turn rate as bad as everyone says it is? If so I was looking at going science ships. Since I think they look cool. Any advice oh honoured forum members.

Yeah, cruisers are pretty painful to turn.  I prefer escorts myself, as they seem to be pretty even.  :2guns:

I'm using science-vessels mostly (my best ship is a customized Intrepid-Retrofit, equipped with the Bellerophon-type console). It still dies pretty easily on high-difficulty STF-missions or Borg-Invasions, but it can disable and debuff the sh** out of anything (Gee, I love Energy-Siphon III).
The coolest feature for science-vessels is the natural subsystem-targeting though, especially shield- and weapon-disabling often turns tides. Many science-vessels are quite manouverable as well.
The only non-science-vessels I have are a Delta-Flyer (I was early enough to be able to craft it before it got 400CP-Premium), the Odyssey and even an Advanced Heavy Cruiser (Excelsior rules). A pity I barely use these.

I've set up new characters for both other professions, but there's still plenty to do even for a vice-admiral :D

All my ships are Cruisers becasuse I see them as practice for when I get a Galaxy, my ultimate goal (what a twist).

Currently i am an engineer. I am using the sovy with the Borg addons at the moment. weapons are dual beam and array phasers with 2 quantums fore and aft. seriously thinking about earning enough dilithium to buy the federation Klingon officer and starting over. i really did not correctly use all of my abilities correctly on my way to vice admiral. the only bad side to that is not being able to transfer all of my good inventory to the new character. my handle is cwbytruckers@cwbytruckers.

question. is there any real difference in the different types of beams? any that has a real advantage?

Phaser: 2.5% chance to disable a random subsystem
Disruptor: 2.5% chance to lower the targets hull damage resistance by 10% for 15 sec
Plasma: 2.5% chance to apply a non-stacking damage-over-time debuff
Polaron: 2.5% chance to reduce all enemy subsystem power levels by 25
Tetryon: 2.5% chance to deal additional shield damage
Antiproton: +2.5% chance to inflict a Critical Hit

I think I need to try some tetryon weapons on my new ship when I get it. B)

Right now my engineer is a proud Odyssey captain.
With my new RCS accelerator console turning isn't such a pain as it used to be but still no comparison to my good old Luna class.
