The ship already had 4 children (Icheb don't count) and they seemed to do well on the ship, no major screw-ups. Kids on Voyager seem to make more sense than most of the adults.

Neelix was like a little 5 year old trying to play grown-up; kids are annoying. Imagine his character replaced by a child, would any of his actions have to be changed to fit a child character? Maybe he'd have to be kept out of harm's way more often, but that's all I can think of.
I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have been caught having sex with that Klingon women in Tuvok's quarters.

I don't even think I want to get involved in a conversation about the problems of Neelix as a character. He did nothing to benefit the show that had a great premise, but threw it away at every chance with recycled plots and character situations.
However I will comment on the video! I lulz'd, and hard! Firstly because the elite squad found the most useful position for Neelix, that of a human shield. Secondly, when I realized it was literally going to take five Borg the better part of a minute to assimilate him! I started laughing thinking, if the Borg take this long on an unarmed Neelix (whom they'd probably ignore anyway), they'll never beat a squad of armed elite troops trained to destroy them! Saddest/funniest Borg moment ever...
