10/18/05 - Press Release – General Distribution

Fans Create Season 5 of Enterprise.

TrekUnited introduces Enterprise: S5, an ambitious fan project intent on continuing the adventures of Star Trek Enterprise with twenty 45 minute episodes of an as of yet undetermined format. The original intended goal was to do this series in high quality animation (Enterprise: Animated) but was decided for now to leave the final format open ended (live action, animated or other) and eventually decided on after the project is underway.

What makes this project unique is the system put in place that allows fans to have creative input into the series production. A ‘writers contest’ has been established were fans will submit a written act (there are 5 acts per episode) of the current pre-plotted episode within a 4 day window, the following day, acts will be voted on and the winning act will be used in the episode and the writers named added to the credits. There are 18 episodes that have the plot and direction summaries already established so the overall season will stay consistent and within the arc and guidelines set by the producer. The other 2 episodes are complete ‘wildcards’ were both the plot and the story are decided by fans. The completed episode will then be ‘unified’ and re-typed by a story editor so that the grammar and writing styles from the different writers will be consistent though out the whole episode. From there the finalized story will then get broken down into a screenplay to be used in the production.

Writing is not the only thing that will be contributed, fans will also contribute music (the goal is to have original music), art, storyboards, models and ‘Fanamatics’ (fan animatics) rough sketch animations designed to show the flow of a certain effects sequence.

This Project is completely volunteered based and will involve no profit or fund raising since Paramount Studio holds the copyright to Star Trek. Distribution will be free for all fans via the internet once a final product is available. Fans will be able to be part of this project by visiting http://www.trekfansunited.com.

The story tells of the adventures of the NX-01 Enterprise and her crew in the year 2157, set two years after ‘Terra Prime’. The season long arc will involve the Romulan War as first mentioned in TOS’s ‘Balance of Terror’. ‘This series will be highly character driven and at times quite intense’ say’s executive producer Thomas Moore, “we are not pulling any punches here, the goal is to be compelling and suspenseful’ add’s Moore. The series will introduce some new reoccurring characters that add some interesting situations for the crew.

Star Trek Enterprise was cancelled on Febuary 2nd, 2005 in its 4th season and it’s last episode premiered on May 13th, 2005. TrekUnited is the group that have been lobbying to have Paramount return Enterprise to the airwaves and even went as far as raising 3.14 million dollars in there efforts. When Paramount turned down the money and a co-offer from another production company, the funds were returned back to the thousands of fans that contributed to it. Despite this latest project, TrekUnited still is lobbing for the return of Enterprise in either a series or telefilm format. ‘This project is yet another example how committed fans are to Enterprise, and what a mistake it was to cancel this great show’ says Moore. This Project is one in series of projects by TrekUnited designed to involve fans and show the power of fandom, another highly anticipated massive project known tentatively as ‘Project X’ is expected to be revealed to the public soon.

The fight for Star Trek continues... Welcome to one of the largest, worldwide
coordinated campaigns TrekUnited has ever attempted! You think that our
other campaigns were big, just wait until you see this!

This is TrekUnited's worldwide FanFilm Mailer Campaign. TrekUnited is
excited to announce that we have teamed up with fifteen Fan Film production
groups ranging from Las Vegas to Darmstadt to bring you a campaign that has
not been attempted before. Over the next 5 weeks we will be targeting
Paramount offices all over the world (including Australia, U.K, Germany,
Canada and the U.S.A) and flooding them with FanFilm mailer postcards,
envelopes and leaflets each brandishing the slogan "Franchise Fatigue? Fans
Worldwide Still Support Star Trek!"

This campaign is not in anyway designed to be anti-Paramount, but is in fact
pro-fans. Rick Berman and the media have stated that the Star Trek franchise
is "fatigued" and that the audience is suffering from "overkill" (SciFi Wire
April 29th, 2005). We feel that Mr Berman has misjudged the loyalty of Star
Trek fans worldwide if he feels we would rather watch re-runs for the next
five- ten years than good, first run Trek programming. The fact that
there are so many Trek fan film productions all over the world is proof
that the fans worldwide are still hungry to see the Roddenberry dream kept
alive!

Developed over a number of months by TrekUnited Australia, the TrekUnited
staff and fifteen fan film production groups, this is a truly international
campaign but it needs YOUR help!

Starting Monday the 3rd of October, 2005 and continuing for the following 5
weeks, we ask that everyone who has ever loved Star Trek - you don't even
have to be an Enterprise fan - should join in and send FanFilm postcards to the
Paramount offices worldwide. Each week on the TrekUnited's main page we will
have links to the cards and addresses for each Paramount office we are
targeting. It doesn't matter if you are not from the country the postcards
are addressed too, send a card anyway! Just imagine the impact we will have
when Paramount's international offices report that they have been receiving
thousands of postcards from all over the world, all proving that the fans
are not tired of Star Trek at all, that we still love and want our show! If
everyone sends at least one card a week we will have a HUGE impact! Don't
worry if you think your card will not make it to the office within the week,
this campaign is about volume not timing. It might not change Paramount's
decision, but it sure will let them know that the fans are still not happy
and every bit of noise we make will go a long way in letting Paramount know
that we are still interested in their product.

The fan film production groups are an integral component of this campaign, they
are true ambassadors of Star Trek fandom and are keeping the dream alive!
They have shown TrekUnited a lot of support and it is time we showed that we
support them in turn by going and visiting their web-sites and watching their
productions, you will be truly amazed at the talent and passion these
dedicated fans have for Trek. You'll be entertained by work that builds on
the existing Star Trek Canon and intrigued by innovative young film-makers

who are pushing the envelope to new heights.

Their work will blow you away!

With your help we can show Paramount that there is still a demand for
professionally made productions. That there are Star Trek fans all over the
world who feel strongly enough about the Roddenberry dream to make and
support amateur productions.

Franchise Fatigue? Fans worldwide still support Star Trek!"

Are you an ARTIST or a MUSICIAN? see the next post as i an running out of space
posted on October 18th, 2005, 8:56 pm
if you can make art on any of the following please pm me a link here and it will be sent to the powers that be immediatyl, or for faster service send an email. this post will be edited with current needs. i will make sure that credit is given, let me know what you want to be called and ill put it in with the submissions.

- Romulan Warbird! Sure we saw one in minefield but this is 6 years later and it may have changed some, so basically it needs to be some between Minefield's and TOS's Balance of Terror. This is the most important thing since it will we used though out the season were needed.

- A Starbase, So what should a 22nd century starbase look like? beats me, but remember we are in the 22nd century here so nothing to techy. For that starbase i need 3 different versions
- A completed version (for the epidode 'Starbase Mine' later in the season)
- one that is under construction about 70% completed.
- the same one under constuction but only heavily mangled by the romulan attack.

- I want to get a contruction type space ship, some thing not the big and having some arms (used for construction). (feel free to use the basic Armada construction ships here, bet add some fitting arms, insignia, knock yourselves out)

-a banner(were calling it Enterprice: S5, and TU's Slogans are Legends never die, or creating the future)

MUSICIANS NEED LOOK NO FURTHER

As you know I want to go for all original music, sure there will be some trek related notes added in, but original none the less. I have been talking to someone and have heard some clips of his stuff. The clips i heard sound very close to what I'm looking for in terms of the tone of the show. I have talked to him over some things i would like the theme song to have and he will playing around with some things so we will see waht comes up

Basically 'Faith of the Heart' will not work good for this production, I like the Mirror universe theme but it is too dark. The theme song should be dramatic and get people pumped while retaining some common elements in trek music.

I am an avid collector of sci-fi soundtracks and I am strong beliver that the score has a huge part in the success of the story. Imagine what it would be like if star wars or back to the future had no or crappy scores.

So if your aspiring musician, and want to submitt some music i would be happy to check it out.I might be able to set it here so members can upload a small mp3 file here of there work so others can here it.

if you cant make .mp3's then any music file is great, make sure you incluce score though, as i can't reverse-engineer non-midis

WRITING GUIDE FOLLOWS

Enterprise: S5 - Season 5 Writers Guidlines

By, Thomas Moore

Season 5 general plot:

The 5th season of Enterprise starts on April 7th, 2157 . It's been a little over 2 years since the events of Terra Prime and about 4 years before TATV. The crew of the Enterprise have had there far share of adventures over the (un-aired) last two years and some things that have happened during that time frame will have influence over the events yet to come. Earth is still working on there relationships with other races and are trying to work through problems both on and off Earth to build a collation that would benefit the whole quadrant. Enterprise and Columbia are still the only warp 5 ships, they have been upgraded to go to warp 5.5, however and there are 3 more (as of yet unnamed) NX warp 5.5 ships that are about 3 months away from launching.

Something very bad will happen to Columbia though, in the beginning of the season. Also in the works the Vulcan's have decided to fully share there warp technology with Earth. A new Warp 7 project (a.k.a The Daedalus Project) has begun on Earth the first ship is expected to be complete by 2163. There are those out there however that may want to put a stop to it, this will play out in a future episode along with flashbacks of a young Archer with his father (Henry) and Dr. Cochrane at the warp 5 complex.

In the first episodes of the season we will see what, is the beginning of the Romulan War. We will be able to see (as we did in United) the Romulans making there plans and there interactions among themselves, of course the humans and the Vulcans for that matter will still not know what the mysterious Romulans look like, but the audience can see them. There will an episode on Vulcan dealing with Romulans covertly trying to infiltrate the Vulcan government, we may learn that T'pol's father may have been a Romulan spy when questions about his death arise, of course, T'pol or the Vulcans in general will not know that the infiltrators are actually Romulans but will think they are apart of a radical Vulcan group and that T'pol's father may have been part of this group years ago when he died, or did he actually die? (Or is he living elsewhere?).

Basically the Romulans are already mad at the humans for attempting to create a coalition (federation) that may cause trouble later on for the generally xenophobic race. The thing that finally pushes the Romulans over the edge is that Humans have begun to build Starbases, one of which is at the border of space the Romulan claim as there's. When that starbase gets attacked the Enterprise and Columbia are sent to investigate, which later turns out disastrous for the Enterprise and even more so for the Columbia. The humans will try to seek aid from the stonewalling pre-federation races.

At one point the Enterprise has to lead a fleet of aging Starfleet (since the new ships are not ready yet) vessels to confront the more advanced Romulans ships and must find clever ways to defeat them (some atomic weapons may be used as surprise to the Romulans) . Starfleet will learn that the Romulans like to play dirty and may make suicide runs and also will set off antimatter explosions to destroy there own damaged ships in hopes of taking the enemy with them. So can Archer and Starfleet find a way to alleviate this threat?

The Romulan cloaking device seen in 'Minefield' will effectively be neutralized as Archer in the second episode figures out a way to adapt the Suliban cloak detection device to see through Romulans cloaks. I guess the Romulans will have to re-think there cloak and maybe in 100 years they will have one that will work (see Balance of Terror, TOS season 1).

Characters and Relationships

Captain Archer:
Archer is basically the same we left him in Terra Prime, he is trying to be the model Captain but at the same time this season he will be fighting some personal demons from past and present. Archer has had an on and off again relationship with Captain Hernandez of the Columbia how something tragic will happen to our pretty Captain that will effect Archer in more ways than he is willing admit to.

Also morally questionable act from Archer past (in Season 3) will come back to haunt him and further complicate his 'at the moment' fragile psyche. Archer will also have to relive a bad childhood experience when problems with the Warp 7 project draws close parallels to the Warp 5 project and 'accident' that happened then.

T'pol:
T’pol has worked hard on trying to control here emotions since Elisabeth’s death in Terra Prime. Her relationship with Trip has been rather stable as the events of season 4 have brought them closer together, Trip is asked by Starfleet to oversee the engineering on the 3 new NX ships under construction.

Trip and T’pol come to the understanding the T’pol will visit Trip when she can, and this arrangement had worked out for almost a year. Last year, however, Starfleet decided on sending Enterprise out on deep exploration again and as weeks turned to months and finally almost a year had passed were T’pol has not seen Trip, almost making her wish now that Trip did not except that assignment.

Luckily both the Enterprise and Columbia were recalled back to Earth so that there engines could be upgraded to warp 5.5 and even more lucky for T’pol, Trip asked to over see that operation (of coarse with the hidden agenda of spending more time with T’pol). That is were our first episode begins. T’pol will also learn that her father may have not died they way everyone thought he did all those years ago, and we may find out T’pol’s Vulcan bloodline may not be as pure as it was assumed to be.

In the first episodes we will learn that T’pol has been having interactive dreams with Trip and can not figure out why, when T’pol confronts Trip about her dreams Trip does not know what she is talking about since he has had none. We learn from here dreams that Trip says he is no longer alive and can only remember dieing on duty. These dreams make T’pol more protective of Trip, as she does not know when Trip will meet the unknown fate. So will T’pol find out that how and when Trip actually dies (we know it’s in TATV of course) and hopefully try to save him?? This point will be rather ambiguous (no resolution) for a while as the dreams will stop during some of the season but may pick up again later on, we will have to wait and see…

(Note TnT will intentionaly keep there relationship low key, most of the main crew know, but Tnt feel that for professional reasons as well as so potential political ones they will keep it rather low key. So maybe the holodeck in Tng is not acuarate on every historical fact especially relationships! Do you document your relationships )

Trip:
It took Trip a little while to get over the death of his sister and baby Elizabeth he has even learned to deal with some of his feeling for T’pol. He had agreed to take the engineering assignment for the 3 new NX ships. Because he knew that he would still be able to see T’pol since Enterprise had been back and forth to Earth so much recently. Of course, things don’t always go as planed when Starfleet send the Enterprise on deep exploration and what he thought would only be months turned into a whole year.

So when Starfleet decided to upgrade the engines on the Enterprise and Columbia to the same ones the new ships were getting, Trip emphatically asks Admiral Gardner to over see that, he got to work on the Enterprise again and most important spend some much desired time with T’pol. In the first two the Enterprise has to deal with a Romulan attack during the attack engineering gets hit hard and a Chief engineer Lt. Cmdr ( ? ) gets killed.

At the end of the second episode, Trip knows that the 3 new ships will need to be done soon and feels the obligation to help get those ships finished. T’pol however (prompted by the dreams and her feeling) practically begs Trip to stay since they now need a chief engineer and most importantly T’pol say’s she need’s him. Archer also tells Trip that the Enterprise really needs him. Trip agrees, and Archer is also able to convince Admiral Gardner as well.

During the season it seems that the new nurse Angela Vanson has become somewhat infatuated with Trip and can’t understand why such a ‘hot’ guy would go for someone like T’pol. So this is touched on though out the season as Angela find way to try and impress Trip. T’pol also notices, and all though lacking in emotion, we can see that she is a little concerned. Trip will have a lot to do in this season and will seem to end up in jeopardy a lot.

Malcolm:
Malcolm will have much more of an edge this season and some frustrations we may not understand at first. Malcolm will once again be called upon for a mission from his old 'section' and it may bring up some things that happened in another mission he had to do a year ago. The other members of his mission may learn something never gets back to Starfleet.

Malcom will also be trying to avoid Leroy, a very charismatic new steward (yes, he works for the unseen chef!) . Leroy tends to be a bit over 'friendly' with Malcolm thru out the season and Malcolm will come to an understanding with 'Leroy by the end of the season.

Phlox:
Phlox will be Phlox mostly this year; however it is not just him in sick bay he has to contend with Nurse Vanson, Enterprises first fulltime nurse. Phlox will sometimes feel that he is living with his wives again when he argues with Vanson. If that were not enough he will have to deal with his own squabbling 'family' members later in the season that will drive him nuts. There will be quite a few situations that will keep Phlox busy this season.

Hoshi:
Hoshi has had a relationship with Fenton Mudd last year and that will come up as the crew meets up with Fenton and Hoshi must deal with Fenton trying to woo her to come back to him. She is quite attracted to him but is turned off by some of his amoral ethics. Later on in the season Something bad happens to Fenton that will effect her more than she thought it would and will have a big impact on her working relationship with Mayweather. Hoshi also will be forced to deal with some bottled up emotions from when she was a prison of the Xindi Reptilians (see Zero Hour).

Mayweather:
Travis Mayweather has not had a good year at all. 18 months ago, his family's ship the Horizon was attacked by unknown aliens, the ship was pillaged and then destroyed killing all 23 crewmembers including Travis's mother and brother! Travis took 2 months off on Earth after that event and on the outside appears to be ok now. The war this season and the death of many Starfleet personal has added to Travis's inner frustration coupled with his family's death.

Indeed Phlox is a bit worried because Travis seems to be too friendly given the circumstances and this is good indication that he is burying a lot of his real feelings. When Phlox tries to approach him on this, Travis's becomes rather agitated with Phlox. Near the end of this season Fenton comes on board and it is discovered that may be a link between Fenton and the Horizons destruction, Mayweather finally reaches a point were he does something that will have tragic consequences and damage his relationship with another crewmember.

Reoccurring roles:

Nurse Angela Vanson:
Nurse Vanson is the first nurse to have a permanent post on the Enterprise. Some one at Starfleet though it might be a good idea to have more medical staff.
So the Enterprise had its first full time nurse, she is a registered nurse and a non-commissioned officer of Starfleet. Angela is young (27 or so) and very beautiful, indeed when she came aboard the guys in the mess hall were always talking about her, it even got to the point were some would fain a sickness just to go to sickbay. Despite all this, Angela is a very smart and headstrong (and somewhat of an overly emotional person too) when she first saw Trip she knew she wanted him but could see that Trip’s attentions lay elsewhere (T’pol).

Angela will try some subtle things to gets Trip’s attention which does get noticed but T’pol and cause some awkward situations. Allot of times we see Angela arguing with Phlox over stuff in sickbay. Angela also tries to confide in Hoshi, at times the two women can be seen in the mess hall talking usually Angela will bring up Trip and Hoshi will bring up her past relationship with Fenton Mudd generally spilling over discussions about men in general.

Fenton Mudd:
As you might have guessed from the name, Fenton (or ‘Fen’ as Hoshi calls him) Mudd is the grandfather of Harcourt Fenton Mudd (See TOS). Fenton is a bold, handsome, young (about 35 or so) and brash freelance trader and sometimes con man. He has a weakness for the ladies; he has been married twice and already has three children (that he knows about anyway). Fenton has had been infatuated with Hoshi since they met on Risa year and half or so ago.

The two went out for a brief time, but Hoshi was a bit put of be some of Fentons amoral ways and broke it off. Needless to say Hoshi is still very attracted to him (and talks to Angela about how passionate he is) even though there ethics do not quite match. Fenton will be in two scheduled episodes this season and may meet a tragic fate (or will he?) at the end of one of them.

‘Leroy’:
Leroy is a new steward who has joined the crew this year, he works for chef (who will remain unseen) and is very charismatic, friendly and talkative. Leroy will be somewhat of a nuisance to Malcolm as it seems Leroy is always coming up to Malcolm and is quite a bit ‘friendly’ with him though out this season. Malcolm usual just finds ways to brush Leroy off but finds that he can not be mad at Leroy and may learn to acually get along with him. Leroy is an 'implied' gay character which means we will really never now if he is even though his mannerisms may 'imply' that he is. So this will be a mystery that sorounds him and you will have to draw you own conclusions.

Admiral Gardner:
Admiral Gardner is a rough no nonsense type of guy that will not have as good of a relationship with Archer as Admiral Forrest did. Gardner will during the season eventually sympathize with Archer plight. Gardner has an ulcer that he always complaining about and a lot of times tells archer that he does not want to make it any bigger. Gardners character is very similar to Admiral Hanson from TNG's 'best of both world's'.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Episodes:

There will be 20 episodes in season 5 we will have a small mid season break to space things apart. Basically the tone I am looking for in season 5 is to have it similar feel to season 4 but have the urgency and heavier emotional expression as season 3. By the end of the season a lot of the crew may need counseling. I am going to lay out the episodes and the tentative plots and titles I would like them to have. Of coarse a lot of thing may be tweaked before the finally product is out. Some episodes (especially the first one) have more of a summary than others since there are specific directions I would like them to go in.

5x01 – For I Have Chosen the Path Unseen

(Teaser act)
We open with the Enterprise and Columbia sitting space docks near each other over Earth. Archer is having diner with Captain Erika Hernandez in her quarters on the Columbia. They laugh and talk about some of the experiences they have been through over the past 3 years and the beauty of the Solaria Nebula that they jointly explored over a year ago, Archer comments on how nice it has been to be able to see Erika on and off and that it has brought some happiness to his life. Archer sees a book of poetry on the table and asks Erika about it. She says it is a book of poetry written my Zen Xi Tou, a famous poet from the 2040’s. She states that she has just finished reading it and offers the book to Archer. Archer replies that he does not read poetry, Erika replies by saying ‘it will enlighten you, here let me read you something’. Archer says ‘sure ok’, Erika opens the book up and says ‘here we go, Captain’s Legacy’ She starts to read it to Archer:

‘Heart of fire, mind of ice
Oh brave Captain, the sacrifice
And while my plight, others may not know
Thus my, spirit to boldly go
In hindsight, I have challenged my dream
For I have chosen the path unseen’

‘Very nice’ says Archer (with a devilish smirk on his face) and takes the book from Erika and puts it down on the table. Archer walks to the controls on the nearby desk and soft jazz music starts playing, he grabs Erika’s hand and they start to slow dance, Archer and Erika draw closer as they dance and they eventually kiss...Scene fades.. at that point we cut to the scene of T’pol standing in an open white space, there we see Trip enter in (he look very sad and his face seem drawn), T’pol asks Trip what he is doing here, he says he does not know, things are a blur to him. T’pol is a bit confused as this type interaction had not happened for quite a while. T’pol asks Trip if he remembers anything, Trip says all he can remember is a little girl who is Andorian but not Andorian. At this point T’pol is very confused. Trip also states that he feels cold and very lonely; Trip puts his hand out to touch T’pol’s hand, right before Trips hand touches T’pol she wakes up as the communicator built in the headboard is beeping.

She answers the hail, it is Malcolm on the bridge, Malcolm says sorry to wake you but we are receiving a priority distress call from Starfleet. T’pol asks were the captain is, Malcolm say’s he is on the Columbia, ‘this late?’ she implies as she raises one eyebrow, she then says I will be right there. T’pol gets to the bridge and Archer and Hernandez as already on the viewscreen from Columbia’s bridge, ‘Good evening’ Archer says to T’pol, T’pol replies ‘good morning’ to you as well (with a hint of cynicism in her voice) The screen does a spilt as they have a three way conversation with Admiral Gardner . Admiral Gardner states that Starbase 4 (still under construction) is being attacked and he needs both ships to respond immediately. As soon as the transmission with Gardner is over, Archer looks at Hernandez and says with a whimsical tone in his voice ‘heart of fire’ Erika smiles as Archer exits the bridge….. Roll opening
sequence…

(The next 3 acts)
Act 1 will open with a nice scene of Enterpise clearing the space dock Columbia and together they go to warp heading to Starbase 4, the next two acts will have to will have to do with things happening en route. I will let fans flesh out the middle part here but basically I need T’pol to query Trip about if he has had any weird dreams he may have had. Of course he has had none. Afterward I want T’pol to have another dream this time Trip reveals that he is dead but only remembers that he died on duty, he implores T’pol to not let him die at that point T’pol reaches out to touch Trip’s hand and is again woken up.
After this point we will see T’pol to start being a bit protective over Trip. There need to be a scene that introduces Nurse Angela Vanson , my thought is the first time we see her she is having an argument with Phlox over were he is keeping his animals in sickbay. Also I want to have a scene in the mess hall were we get a brief introduction to Leroy, we see Leroy attempting to make small talk with Malcolm and Malcolm finding a way to avoid him.

(The last act)
In the last act we see the ships getting to Starbase 4 and seeing a mangled super structure. As the ships draw closer we see a single Romulan Warbird emerging from behind the mangled structure. The two NX ships go to Tactical alert. The Enterprise is hailed by the Romulan ship, it is audio only. The Romulans state that the Humans have spread like plague and are now attempting to establish there presence in Romulan space. ‘This will no longer be tolerated’ says the Romulans. We declare that all humans will be eradicated and stop your plague once and for all. Of course, Archer tries to tell them that that we not told it was Romulan space, but his claims fall on deaf ears. Archer also asks he may see who he is addressing, the Romulans reply by saying that ‘Humans are too insignificant to be honored by our image’.

The Romulan ships fires on both the Columbia and Enterprise while retreating past the mangled Starbase 4. Archer talks to Hernandez on the viewscreen and says ‘we should be able to handle this one together’, Hernandez says ‘what’s the worst that can happen?’ At that point our fair captain finds out how worse it can be. The Romulan ship turns around, all of a sudden two more Romulan ships de-cloak near the first one and two more de-cloak behind the NX ships. Captain Hernandez comes on the Enterprise’s viewscreen ‘Jonathan should we retreat’? ‘We might not be able to’ say’s Archer’, Hernandez reply’s ‘heart of fire’ ? Archer responds ‘ No, hearts of fire!’ Hernandez states back ‘You got it! Let’s get to work’ (with a smile on her face).

So the two NX ships engage in battle against 5 Warbirds, together the NXs are able to take out the first Warbird but the two ships are receiving a pounding. During the battle there are some explosions in engineering and Chief Engineer (TBD) gets killed, luckily trip is there to keep things running. The Enterprise manages to blow the nacelle off the second Warbird but in doing so the free flying nacelle hits the Enterprise and nocks out weapons and warp drive (for the moment). The three remaining Warbirds repositions together and head for the NX ships. The Columbia is in far worse condition she has impulse but her weapons are gone, there is a fire on the bridge and worse the warp core is going critical.

Hernandez orders everyone to the escape pods, Hernandez’s first officer implores the Captain to come along since the core will breach in less than a minute but Erika insists ‘I’m not done yet, now get the **** out of here!’. Back on the Enterprise we see the Columbia flying ahead of the Enterprise on the viewscreen, aware of there warp breach situation Archer says out loud ‘what the **** is she doing!’. Archer barks at Hoshi to hail the Columbia, as the screen comes up the bloodied face of Hernandez appears on screen, Archer yells at her ‘get out of there is nothing you can do’ Erika relies back ‘that’s not true and you know it’ Erika further replies ‘Goodbye Jonathan, we will always have Solaria’. Archer yells ‘Erika!’ then the viewscreen cuts to the shot of the Columbia flying next to the 3 Romulan ships.

Two of flanking ships start to veer off just then there is a huge flash of light. Archer, shocked, stumbles backward and falls into his chair. As Archer stares blankly ahead, he says in low key ‘In hindsight, I have challenged my dream, For I have chosen the path unseen’ the bridge crew looks at him funny, then on screen it appears that the two flanking Warbirds have survived and are headed towards the Enterprise. Malcolm say’s ‘Captain what should we do’ Archer does not reply then T’pol says ‘Captain, Captain, Jonathan’ Archer, unfazed, is still staring directly ahead……………………………. Next episode

5x02 – Talons in the Prey

(Teaser act)
T’pol is calling ‘Captain, Captain’ as the Romulan ships are approaching; she walks over to him and says ‘Captain Archer’ then she slaps him across the face. ‘Captain you need to snap out of it!’ at that moment Archer looks at her and says in a sullen voice ‘yes, of coarse your right’. Trip then breaks in over the intercom and say’s ‘Partial warp drive is restored’. T’pol (not Archer) then orders the ship to go to warp it flies right past the Warbirds as it goes to warp. The pursuing Warbirds then turn around and go to warp chasing the Enterprise….. Roll Opening Sequence
(The 4 remaining acts)

So basically the episode has two Warbirds chasing the damaged Enterprise. The Romulans have cloaked so the Enterprise can not see them. Malcolm comes up with the idea to see if they can adjust the Suliban cloak detector (see Shockwave) to see the Romulans. They are successful and can now see the two Warbirds. Archer decided to use this to his advantage he knows that the Romulans do not yet know the Enterprise can see them, so the Enterprise drops out of warp and as the Romulans draw closer he aims what is left of his weapons at one of them, the Warbird is destroyed but the other one de-cloaks and the Enterprise has no more weapons left.

The Enterprise once again goes to warp, and the Warbird pursues. Archer dwelling on Erika remembers her last words ‘We will always have Solaria’. Archer then has an idea he asks Malcolm if there is any Nebula’s around (since Solaria is too far away now), Malcolm says the Kerada Nebula is 3 light years away. So the Enterprise heads for the nebula with the Warbird hot on its tail.

Upon entering the nebula Archer has a special mission for Mayweather but he will need Trip to go with him. Mayweather and Trip are to take a shuttlepod and attach a bomb (attached to the shuttlepod’s side) on the Warbird that is trying to find the Enterprise in the Nebula. Since the sensors are mostly useless in the nebula, the idea is that the Warbird will not detect the small shuttlepod. T’pol urges Archer not to send Trip, Archer and Trip are both puzzled as to why T’pol is insisting on this. Trip does go, however, and they are successful in planting the bomb. The bomb does not destroy the Warbird though, but does damage it a bit, as the Enterprise and the wounded Warbird exit the nebula the Warbird goes to warp and escapes. Archer orders the Enterprise to head back to what’s left of Starbase 4 to pick up survivors then to head straight to Earth so he can debrief Starfleet.

T’pol will have one more dream with Dead Trip, in it T’pol asks if Trip can remember anything about the Andorian girl he spoke of, Trip tries to remember something and he says the word ‘Talla’ just then T’pol wakes up again.

Afterward T’pol has a big discussion with Trip and says we lost there chief engineer and Enterprise really needs you, then goes further by saying ‘I need you’. Trip who realizes that Starfleet will need those NX ships soon and is a bit hesitant because of his feeling of obligation towards getting the project done. Trip however agrees to stay but does not think Gardner will allow it. T’pol says ‘we will let the captain deal with that’, ‘ he has ways of being pervasive when dealing with the Admiral’ she adds.

At the very end of this episode Archer is in his quarters at his desk, he picks up Zen Xi Tou’s book of poetry that Captain Hernandez gave him, he flips though the pages for a few seconds the gets up, pats Porthos (who is on the bed) and goes to window, as you see the stars flying by you see the reflection of Archers face in the window as the camera zooms in you will see a tear running down Archers face…… The end

5x03 - The More Things Change

Archer is having a meeting on Earth with Admiral Gardner and some other high ranking military staff (while Enterprise is in space dock)over the declared war by the Romulans (also discussing the status of the three incomplete NX ships) during the meeting the intercom beeps, so one says there’s been an accident at the Warp 7 complex (with is near by Starfleet headquarters). Archer and Gardner get off a shuttlecar in front of the mammoth building that used to be the warp 5 complex and is now the warp 7 complex since the Vulcans decided to share there warp technology with Earth. As Archer stares up to the building, there is a small flashback of archer as a child standing with his father Henry looking at the same building so many years ago. It turns out that the body of one of the scientists has been discovered and Archer and some of his crew help with the investigation.

During this episode Archer will have flashbacks of when he was 12 and hanging around the complex as Henry and Dr. Cochrane worked on the warp 5 engine, we will see designs all over the walls of the yet to be built NX Enterprise, now on the same walls there are designs and schematics of the new warp 7 ship, The Daedalus. We will find out why Cochrane wanted to call the ship Enterprise. The reason we have a lot of Archer flashbacks is that when he was 12 there was a death at the warp 5 complex and young Archer was the one who found the body.

As it turns out it was a Vulcan that did it and after a foot chase thought some of the futuristic streets of San Francisco, Archer learns that he works for a group called ’The Order of the Raptor’ on Vulcan as he pins the assailant to the ground. As he lets the Vulcan back up the Vulcan taps a device on is wrist and a white glow consumes him with nothing but ashes left on the ground. At the end Gardner orders the Archer to go to Vulcan to get to the bottom of this group to find out if there is any other terror plot against Earth in the works.

5x04 – Under the Raptor's Wing

When the Enterprise gets to Vulcan they are greeted by T’pau, She explains to Archer that The Order of the Raptor are Vulcans that embraces the raw powerful emotions of there ancient ancestors, they are a mostly secret society as the most Vulcans look down on them. So Archer and T’pol conduct an investigation, we learn that through the investigation that T’pol’s father was (name?) as member of that cult right up until he died. Archer finds out that V’las (see Kir’shara, season 4) is the Vulcan leader of this group. During the episode, we (not Archer) see scenes of V’las getting orders from the Romulans (as was touched on briefly in Kir’shara). It turns out that The Order of the Raptor was actually started by the Romulans 30 years ago and several Romulans secretly mixed into Vulcan society, a lot of them are sleeper agents that may be activated someday. Most Vulcans in that order are not even aware of whom the Romulans are, and the fact they are among them.

We learn through V’las’s conversation with the Romulans that T’pol’s father was one such sleeper agent and ‘if she only knew her precious Vulcan bloodline was not as pure as she thought’. Anyway it ends up with Archer and T’pol discovering V’las’s hideout and T’pol gets into a confrontation with V’las forcing her to shoot him, as he lay dieing he says to T’pol ‘your father would be proud’ T’pol replies ‘Vulcans do not express pride’ at that point V’las lets out a laugh as he dies.

In the very last scene we are brought a building in Romulus were a Romulan officer is sitting at a deck with big bay windows in back of him over looking the Romulan city, another Romulan walks in and reports that V’las has been killed, the Romulan officer get up and walks by the windows looking out at the city (back turned to the other Romulan), he says ‘who killed him’ to which the other Romulan replies ‘The Vulcan Starfleet officer, T’pol’. Then Romulan Officer still looking out the window starts to smile and then say’s ‘like father, like daughter’ and then continues to smile………..The end (although implied, we will leave it ambiguous if that was really T’pol’s father)

5x05 – Avians over Avalon

The Enterprise receives a signal from the Alpha Century security task force, It seems a Xindi ship has entered there space. The Enterprise confronts the Xindi ship to find that the Xindi humanoid and Xindi Sloth who have helped Archer at the end of season 3. It’s seems that the Xindi are chasing evidence that the previous thought to be extinct Xindi Avians may have migrated to Alpha Century and maybe nearby the capital city of Avalon.

Archer reluctantly agrees to help the Xindi with there search, knowing that the humans will be very resistant to the Xindi’s presence on AC. Archer must over come his own peoples xenophobia and find some clues in order to find evidence of the Avians. It will turn out that what they discover will be a surprise to everyone involved! Also in this episode we will see Hoshi have an adverse reaction when she has to deal with a Xindi Reptilian (see Zero Hour, Season 3) during this expedition.

5x06 – Mudd Castles in the Sky

Starfleet in desperate need of Zenite-B (a derivative form of Zenite)
used to enhance there ships phasers, sends the Enterprise to the planet Ardana
to negotiate with the Ardanians. Upon arrival the crew meets up with Fenton
Mudd a questionable trader and someone who has had a close relationship with
Hoshi, last year. Throughout the episode Hoshi mush fend off against Fenton’s romantic advances. Mudd explains that the peaceful Ardanians don’t like to refine the normal Zenite (used for medicine) into a form used for weapon enhancement. Archer states that they need it or else they won’t be able to win the war with the Romulans. Mudd, who has a good relationship with the Ardanians agrees to help negotiate (for a percentage, of course).

The Ardanians take the crew to the newly constructed city in the sky, Stratos. There, the Ardanians explain that there automated mining process will not refine Zenite into Zenite-B and they will need to actually send people to do that (later to be known as the Troglytes). Mudd seeing a good opportunity tries to sneak into Stratos’s engineering area to try to obtain the Ardanians high powered anti-gravity technology, things to not go as planned for Mudd. By the end of the episode the Archer and the Ardanians reach an agreement and sends in people to start mining. So Archer, because of the war’s needs is responsible for setting up the situation that Kirk has to resolve 100 years later.

This episode is dedicated to Manny Coto

5x07 – Unless to Spy my Shadow

This will be an episode about Malcolm being summoned by his old ‘section’ to perform a risky covert mission in Romulan territory. During the two year un-aired time Malcolm had reluctantly done a mission that may come back to haunt him here. Also, an interesting question is that canon states that the humans have never seen a Romulan face to face until Balance of Terror, but what if there was a section 31 mission that they did see the Romulans, since section 31 in so secret maybe you could get away with it here and not violate anything since it is ultra classified.

5x09 – Wrong us, Shall We Not Revenge

The Human colony on Dellura is under attack by the Romulans and the ships there can not hold them off forever. The Enterprise is rushing to get there when it is attacked by and alien ship, the Enterprise is forced to stop. Several engine parts are beamed off the ship. The Enterprise is hailed by the alien ship and find is the Illyrian ship and captain from ‘Damage’ (Season 3), he claims he has waited along time for them to pay back the villainy of Archer when Archer stole vital components of his ship. Archer try’s to plea with him but to no avail and the ship warps away. Now the Enterprise has no warp drive and is desperate to get to Dellura before the colony is destroyed.

Archer, already feeling guilty about what he has done must find a way to restore warp drive. Things onboard Illyian ship are not too content however, the Illyian first officer questions his captain if the need for revenge is more important than thousands of people potentially losing there life. By the end of the episode Archer is successful at getting the parts back with some unexpected help from the Illyian first officer. When the Enterprise finally gets to Dellura the colony, it is too late and the colony is destroyed. Archer with a stone cold expression puts his head down and quietly walks off the bridge…
(so basically this is a morality play about the need for revenge being more important then possible life or death issues.)

5x10 – Duty, Honor & Sacrifice

After the destruction of colony on Dellura, Starfleet is forced to play it rather limited hand, the construction on the 3 new NX ships is at a hurried pace but still they are not ready yet they are about two weeks away from launch. Archer orders Trip to stay at the shipyard and do whatever is possible to get those ships going, Trip is not to happy as he wants to be part of the battle, T'pol, surprisingly is somewhat happy since she thinks Trip will be safer there then in an uphill battle with the romulans. Starfleet is paranoid of Romulans ships reaching Earth and destroy the ship yards. The Romulans are building up an offensive force in the Xanive system and Starfleet decides to have to the Enterprise lead a force that consists of some very old ships. Starfleet has done there best to retrofit the ships with some updated weapons and tech like transporters but many of them still have some older nuclear armaments as well.

En route the crews of the older ships are very nervous and try to hold up as well as they can. Many of the fleet’s crew were actually taken straight out of the academy, as Starfleet did not have enough experienced officers to fill all the older ships that they were retrofitting. Archer gives an uplifting fleet wide speech (and reads a Zen Xi Tou poem to them) and challenges the crews of those ships to come up with inventive ways to defeat the enemy. The ships engage in a big battle and a lot of Romulan ships are taken by surprise by some of the unconventional tactics of the Starfleet ships. The Enterprise takes a bit of damage and the warp drive is knocked out.

What’s left of the fleet starts to cheer as it seems the Romulan ships are destroyed, and then four more Romulan ships come out of warp to wipe out the almost decimated Earth fleet, virtually defenseless Archer has run out of options. The four Romulan ships are closing in, and what’s worse is there are 2 more ships coming out of warp on the long range scanner heading towards the fleet as well…….………….(yes, insert big cliffhanger here)

- - Mid Season Break - -

5x11 – The Better Part of Valor

As the 4 Romulan ships start to come into weapons range Archer gets hailed, it is Captain (TBD) from the starship (TBD)! Those two ships that came out of warp were two of the three NX ships not Romulans! As Archer asks how they made it here and where the 3rd ship is, Captain TBD says that there is no time to explain now and the 2 NX ships take on the 4 Romulan ships with some minor help from the Enterprise the Romulan ships are destroyed. Afterward Archer finds that Trip was able to rig the engines so the NX ships could get there but it caused the coils to burn out, they brought some replacements but it will take a couple days to replace them. So we have a situation now were the Enterprise and the 2 NX ships can not go to warp and must repair themselves.

Captain TBD tells Archer that the third NX vessel was having problems so Trip stayed behind to help get that ship going. As if timing could not be worse enough, 3 Romulan ships come out of warp. The warp-less NX ships get ready to battle them but surprisingly enough the Romulan ships go back into warp. Archer determines that the Romulans seeing the warp damaged NX ships are heading towards Earth! Back at the ship yards near Earth, Trip is getting frustrated by the problems the 3rd NX ship is having. The ships captain is also somewhat annoying to Trip as well. Trip’s impression is that the captain is too young and inexperienced for his position.

The third NX ship gets an emergency message from Starfleet saying that 3 Romulan ships have entered the system and the ship must launch now to try and stop them. So we have a situation were the 3rd NX ship, her young captain and Trip must find a way to destroy the 3 Romulan ships, this time there will be NO last minute help from the Enterprise or the other 2 NX ships!! T'pol is now feeling a little jittery as she thought Trip would be safe near Earth. Also, Archer will be troubled as not once but twice now his ship is incapacitated and can not come to the rescue. His ego of being the hero will take some hits here.

5x12 – Starbase Mine

The crew tries to help investigate strange occurrences the almost completed
Starbase 3, when life support systems start to shut down the crew must evacuate every one to the Enterprise, Archer however becomes trapped. After the starbase in abandoned (except for archer) life support returns to normal and a massive shield (this is way beyond earth technology) envelopes the station preventing the Enterprise from get through.

Archer must find out what is going on as mysterious robots appear and disappear in the station seem to be transforming itself. We learn later that a very small mysterious probe had attached to the station. Archer learns that it is not aliens who are behind this but the intelligence that was controlling the ‘Dead Stop’ station (see Season 2). Archer must find a way to destroy the station and save himself in the process before the technologically advanced station becomes a threat to the whole sector…

5x13 – Phlox-In-Law

When the Enterprise visits Denobula to pick some delegates, Phlox is surprised to find not one but all three sets (from his three wives) of parent-in-laws are also on board as the Enterprise heads to an important conference regarding trading for supplies. This ends up driving Phlox crazy and we find out how complex Denobulan relationships really are.

The B story involves T’pol needing a very minor surgery; she has to recover in sickbay for a few days. This means she is under the care of Nurse Vanson. T'pol who is already somewhat jealous (well deep inside anyway) As you might imagine things will be quite a bit tense between the two and it does not help when Trip comes to visit T’pol in sickbay and Angela must tolorate seeing the attention he gives T'pol.

There will be a C story about Malcolm finally dealing with Leroy’s ‘friendliness’ and surprising finding some common ground between them.

5x14– **plot and story to be decided by the fans**

5x15 – Farewell the Tranquil Mind

The opening scene, we start with is T'pol taking a hot shower with plenty of steam, we see two hands touching her shoulder, it is Trip. She turns arounds and faces him then she kisses him passionately at that moment Trip says 'I'm so glad were together', they kiss again only to be interupted by a female voice, it is Angela! 'May I Join' Angela asks, Trip says 'sure, the more the merrier', at this point T'pol has a mortifed look on her face. Angela stands next to Trip and they get close to T'pol. 'My, we are going to have some fun, aren't we my dear' as she looks devilishly at T'pol. As they advance towards T'pol both Angela and Trips faces change in to that of hidious monsters, they lunge at T'pol. T'pol then wakes up, the victim of another bad dream, that is the third one this week she has had. At around he same time Trip has some disturbing dreams about T’pol with baby Elizabeth. It turns out most of the crew are having bad dreams. The whole crew in general seems to be very short tempered. Things seem to be in a downward spiral. Dr. Phlox determines that the crew is experiencing bad dreams and nightmares almost every night causing unstable brain chemistry.

It turns out that a non corporeal entity is triggering and feeding off the negative R.E.M. sleep of the crew. All attempts to get the alien off the ship fail. Phlox comes to the determination that if they starve the entity it will leave the ship. So Phlox administers a special drug to keep the whole crew awake as long as possible, they crew must also watch over each other and keep each other awake. A couple days go by and the entity is weakened but is still on the ship, how much longer can the crews go with out sleep?? .
(reminder that this is PG so with the shower scene we won't be showing anything reavealing even though all three have no cloths on.)

This episode about lack of sleep dedicated to Tim Brazeal

5x16 – Flashpoint

Fenton Mudd comes onboard the Enterprise, Archer who is suspicious of what Fenton in doing finds a way to covertly search his ship while he has Hoshi distract him. Archer finds what could be possible evidence that Fenton could have been behind the attack that destroyed the Horizon a 6 months ago and causing the death of 23 of her crew including Mayweather’s mother and brother.

Mayweather learns of this, and although, Archer has told him to stay out of this he snaps and in a fit of rage does something (or does not do something ) that will indirectly cause’s the death of Fenton only to find out later that Fenton had actually nothing to do with the Horizons destruction and now must live with the pain of what he has done, as well as a very severed friendship with Hoshi.

(Please note that Fenton may die in a way that is not conclusive, there by setting up the fact that in the future he could come back in the next season then it would be interesting to see what develops between Fenton, Hoshi and Mayweather in light of this possible revelation)

5x17 – Soul Mate

The Enterprise is dispatched to investigate a mysterious cluster of seemingly random multiple wormholes. When the Enterprise arrives they find a small area of space were multiple wormholes appear and disappear seconds at a time. They send a couple small probes into a couple of the wormholes. The Enterprise receives telemetry data that reveals that these are only short range (a few light years or so) wormholes that go in different directions, but the crew are still perplexed as to why they all converge here and why they pop up for a few seconds then disappear. Trip tells Archer that he can rig a piece of equipment to get more data, but they will have to get close with a shuttlepod to do it.

Archer originally orders Mayweather to take Trip, but T’pol still being protective of Trip insistently volunteers, so it is just T’pol and Trip to go on the mission. During the mission a wormhole suddenly appears around the shuttlepod and Trip and T’pol are enveloped by the wormhole as it disappears. The shuttlepod is thrusting trough the wormhole as weird reddish green light shines brightly in the cabin seemingly putting them in trance like state, then we here a thud. Scene fades out...

The next thing we see is Trip waking up in a primitive looking hut. As he wakes up he cannot remember anything! He has amnesia! He finds out there was another with him, a woman with pointed ears; she is in the hut next door and we find out she also has amnesia. They find out they are in a fairly primitive village (about 1700's or so) occupied by humanoids who seem to be quite religious. Trip and T’pol talk, and although they don’t remember each other they feel some type of bond between them.

A day or two goes by and we shift back and forth between Trip and T’pol and the Enterprise trying to find were they went to. The Enterprise sends several probes into several wormholes to try and find the one that took the shuttlepod. One of the probes eventually detects the shuttlepod on a planet a few light years away and Enterprise immediately heads toward that planet. Back on the planet a few days have gone by. T’pol in her hut gets a visit from Trip (who is staying in another hut). Anyway at this point things get a little hotter as they talk some more, it leads to a point were they kiss, then kiss passionately at that point T’pol takes off Trip's shirt runs her fingers down his chest, they then head toward the bed… Scene fades out.. next scene..

We go back to scene on the Enterprise (TBD). Then we have the next scene back in T’pol's hut we see Trip and T’pol now cuddled in bed together resting, there is a knock at the door so Trip gets up and puts a robe on, it one of the villagers that helped them, the villager say that is against there laws for a man and a woman to stay in the same hut unless they are married! Trip say’s that for all he knows himself and T’pol are already married as it really feels that way to him!. The Villager say that since they do not know for sure then they must stay in separate area’s. The Villager then adds that if they like the village priest could marry them tomorrow in the temple. Trip looks back a T’pol and they give each other a smile. The next scene we see Archer, Phlox and Reed beam down next to the crashed shuttlepod they see the smoke from a nearby village and head that way.

This part i would like to have some type of original and interesting marrage ceremony based on what an anicent alien culture would do. The Ceremony will be interupted before completion by the landing party. After whith, the next scene brings us back to the Enterprise, Phlox has fould a way to restore there memories, it seem that strange aora had done some things to the memory ingrams.

Trip asks Angela and Phlox if they could give them a few moments, Angela does but would secretly like to hang around Trip some more. Trip looks at T’pol and says ‘I wonder if this experience is sign that maybe we should get married’ T’pol replies ‘Indeed, it does present a bit of irony’ Trip then says ‘Maybe this is fates way of keeping us together’ T’pol replies ‘Fate is not logical!’ Trip then states back ‘are you sure about that’ then he does a smile and looks at T’pol… scene fades out.. The end!!

(Note, I wrote this to address the question, If a Vulcan looses all of his/her memories are his/her emotions still repressed? Also in T'pols & Trips case, does this effect there 'bond' at all.)

5x18 – Blue Moon Rising

After receiving a distress call from a Klingon shuttle, Archer finds himself
reunited with his former Klingon defender Kolos (see Judgment, season 2). Kolos tells Archer the Klingons have a trade alliance with the Romulans and have been supplying Romulans with ships and weapons but will not get actively involved with the war. Kolos has a plan to break up this alliance but they will need help from Shran to pull it off. There plan fails, but after a self sacrifice the goal is eventually accomplished.

Also when Shran comes on board the Enterprise he brings his Aenar wife Jhamel with him as well as his baby daughter. When Shran introduces his daughter to the crew, he says this is my daughter Talla at that point T’pol’s facial expression stiffens. Jhamel asks T’pol to hold Talla for a minute at first T’pol is hesitant but she ends up holding the baby at that moment a picture of Trip’s face in pain comes into T’pol’s mind and she gives the baby back to Jhamel.

5x19 – Half Empty

This Episode has to do with the last big battle between the humans and the
Romulans. With the Klingons no longer supplying the Romulans and the
new NX ships in the battle, thing’s seem like there looking better for Starfleet. On both sides, ships and resources are a bit depleted and both know the war can not go on much longer.

We will see members of the Romulan senate debating over what course of action should be taken, this episode will give us our best look at the working of the Romulan government, as we will see both sides figuring out there next course of action. Things may not be as bright as they seem for Starfleet or the Romulans, is the glass half empty or half full?

Some of this this Episode will done in a ‘dual perspective’ fashion, were we have the actions of the Enterprise and crew involved in a battle but also we flip back and forth to Starfleet Command and the Romulan Senate so that we get the all the sides of the story. (Another way to look at this, is that you have a child doing something then we flip back and forth between each separate parent’s reaction and/or interactions to what the child is doing)

5x20 – Trip or Treaty

This Episode will conclude the active war with the Romulans. We will see how the Romulan neutral zone is established. There is a lot of content that need to be thought out here. During this episode T’pol must make a decision between possibly saving Trip from a potentially bad situation or finally ending the war. Also at the end T’pol will get a surprise interactive dream with dead Trip (from TAVT) and she will see images that trip saw as he was dieing like Phlox and Archer standing over him and Trip winking at Archer.

Will this be enough to save Trip from his fate in TATV?? The very last scene will be T’pol going to Trips quarters, the door opens up and T’pol says to Trip ‘there is something we need to talk about’ she walks in the room and we see the door shut………. (but it might not be what about the dreams it may be something else) The End….Stay tuned for season 6!!

Supplemental material:

Trip Lives, the TAVT solution

Ok, just to clarify were I was going with the TnT stuff this Season. Basically we have semi ignored Rikers speech with with T'pol in TATV (hey, Holodecks don't know every historic detail especially relationships from 200 years ago ). While I went around this fact i still wanted to undo Trip's death in a way the was inovative and conceivable.

Basically the key here is the Shran’s daughter Talla; remember that she is an Andorian/Aenar hybrid. Since the Aenar have high telepathic powers, Talla being a hybrid has some special powers of here own. She has the ability to telepathically link to a person's spirit and stay connected even after death. What happen is that when Trip died he was rushed to sickbay he was rushed right past Talla, who was in the hallway at the time. At that point she connected with Trip and felt his pain and after he died she was still connected with his spirit. Her telepathic power is not liner (does not follow a straight time line), so even as a new born baby she was able to relay her connection to the only person who can be receptive to telepathy and has latent telepathic bond with Trip, that person is T’pol.

Basically either at the end of this season or the beginning of the 6th I wanted to have a scene that would put us back to the events of TATV at the point right before Trip connects the wire, only this time T’pol shoots the aliens and Trip is saved. At that point they walk down the same hall, and Talla is there just standing there staring at them. After they pass her T’pol turns her head back toward Talla as they are walking and silently says ‘thank you’ to the little girl then turns her head forward and we see a small smirky type of smile as they continue walking……..scene fades out. Then we go back to the normal time frame and start the episode. Also keep in mind that since Talla has sent these visions to T’pol that changed the dynamic of there relationship ( for instance T'pol almost begging Trip to stay on the Enterprise in 'Talons in the Prey') sp some things may have changed before TATV who knows... The future is not written yet…………or is it? Also concider this if Trip were to live would it change the future that much? Most likely not, we would still have the Federation and the adventures as we know them. Also another concideration is that Maybe Riker and Troi were not from the correct timeline and the correct timeline is were Trip did not die, After all Riker and Troy do look fater and older then they were suppose to. !!

Comment’s from the producer
On the tone of the season

Just some comments on what I was looking for in regards to this season. First thing is the Enterprise needs to be its own series and does not need to many fanatical elements from it’s predecessors such as wacky time travel stories, extreme technobabble solutions, races that should have not been encountered in the 22nd century like the Borg, Q, Ferengi, etc. and most of all not directly attaching it to another series like TATV did with TNG.

While this show is a sci-fi fantasy, I have opted for the DS9 approach which is to have it be highly character driven and throw a few interesting reoccurring secondary characters in the mix to make things really interesting. The need to have tangible three dimensional characters is paramount (no pun intended) to the success of any show, these characters are not perfect; they have flaws and some emotional insecurities just like the rest of us. Also, we want to build up the drama and suspense of the show, some of which may lead to some ambiguous endings. The goal here is to give the viewer a sense of ‘what if?’ where story and characters are concerned. If for example we, at the end of every episode, we say ‘and the crew lived happily ever after’ then the show would fail to be compelling to watch episode to episode. Life as you know, is like a roller coaster ride, this show and characters are no different.

This series is intended to be PG, but is not afraid to deal with some romantic and sensitive issues that come along. There will be a lot of thing that are not show but rather ‘implied’, an example of which is when Archer is kissing Erika in her quarters then the scene fades out, leaving you to guess as to what went on. Also there will be an episode that light touchs on with homosexuality, this issue will be touched upon in an indirect sort of way and us a few ‘implied’ scenes and innuendos to get its point across to an intelligent audience.
My ultimate hope is that through unity fans can make this an enjoyable product for everyone. Thank You, Tom Moore

5x01act1 – For I Have Chosen the Path Unseen
DEADLINE:OCTOBER 28

Ok, so here are some things i want to have the acts contain, you guys will have to fill and make up the rest. Basically the remain 3 acts are contained on the Enterprise or Columbia as they are traveling to Starbase 4. Remember this episode is a little more introducory then the other not to much since we know the main characters already.

Act 1

- A scene were T'pol queries trip about her dream, Trip will not know what she is talking about. also we need some talk but how bad it was for them not to see wach other for a whole year. Remember T'pol is a vulcan so nothing to mushy.

- A good scene were Nurse Vanson is introduced in sickbay (maybe arguing with phlox )

- A scene in the mess hall that introduces Leroy, people may comment that is Leroy so 'friendly' also we she him make efforts to talk to Malcolm and Malcolm find a way to blow him off. Also in the mess hall we may hear some male crewmembers tlak about 'the hot nurse in sickbay'.

- Something minor with Hoshi in it (not sure of what at this point)

Act 2:

- T'pol's second dream with dead Trip as described in the episode description.

- Possibly some type of scene on the Columbia between Hernadez and her first officer, this scenes purpose is so to make the scene in act 4 with the first officer have a little more meaning.

- Maybe a cute scene with Archer and Porthos. (just so we know he's still around)

Act 3:

- A Scene with Phlox and Mayweather were we find out about what happened to the horizon and Pholx noticing that Mayweather may still need more time to deal with his grief.

- A scene were T'pol notices Angela attempting to be 'freindly' with trip.

- A scene were the Enterprise picks up so survivors from the constuction crew of Starbase 4, and they describe the attack, but not so much the attackers.

So, to everyone here good luck, remember each of the 4 main acts takes about 10 minutes of air time so keep that in mind. Also once the acts are all in the the story will be 'unified' and re-wriiten so that the grammer and writting styles are all the same. and then it will be broken down into an accual screenplay.
