Since TNG. Though Enterprise wasn't in a fleet battle at those times, so I see the problem.

Who decided that the defiant should sound like a tie fighter. I think the reason that everything is about battles is because at the time they are exciting however if you think back can any of you remember the battle scenes from the reboot. I remember Sulu swordfighting and phaser pistols that sounded like 9mm's I dont remember any of the ship battles. Battles are good for flashiness but are light on content.

Yeah, who decided that they had pulse based phasers in 22XX. Hell, they don't even have pulse based hand phasers in 2380. I was always under the impression that pulse type phasers were harder to create, ergo they didn't have them until 2370+.

That's mostly because there weren't really any big ship battle scenes. We see a few scuffles which last no more than a minute or two, but no big battle scenes, and certainly no fleet battles. Although, I always thought the big battle scene in Nemesis between the Enterprise and the Scimitar was pretty good.

Ok...what I read so far is that the game is set in the DS9 era and that you need the Unity3D browser plugin.... anyone know this plugin? Seen it in action maybe?

The official site is StarTrek

I have seen it, but not for anything other than a few 2D high graphics games and maybe a couple 3d low graphics ones.  I don't know if it supports higher graphics or not.

Funny - I already have that plugin installed. Had to use it for an interactive presentation on zdf.de (which is a german TV station) about 2 weeks ago. There you could even use special glasses to make it 3D. Graphics weren't that bad especially for a browser based thing....

There is a webbrowser version of the Quake3 engine, too, so thats not necessarily a handicap :) But from the screenshots, it looks more like a 2D point-and-click adventure or round based strategy game, but hard to tell.
If you turn the sound off, the intro is actually not bad, just the X-Wing is realy shocking for Star Trek fans :)

I just want to get epic battles in FO where the ships don't stop to shoot.  I want flybys, hit and runs, circling, ect.   :whistling:  If we could get that in FO, then who needs thin new junk.

Director's cut FTW. Now that is something I'd like to see in FO
