Well at least they didn't pointlesley go 3d, lol, I mean for example STO and BSGO are '3d' but all it really does is make things more annoying especially when you combine it with all of the cumbersome controls.

I'm also looking forward to this game, especially since it looks like they are using canon stuff only. There is only one non-canon vessel I've seen so far and that one looks like a KTinga
. They brought in many ships from TNG and DS9, I think this will be great.
Concerning the delay I hope it benefits the game. I'd rather wait a bit longer for a game than get it only half way finished like STO, DoW Soulstorm, or HoI 3.

this is because the whole game is based around the dominion wars so thay are only using ships that appeared or wer around at that point.

their starship viewer is really impressive, i love the trek art there showing us MEDIA | Star Trek – Infinite Space
n crickey even the vulcan t'pau transport looks awesome
n Talk about EYE Candy
- the use of colour and glows really makes the ships look like toys
n go away klingon raptor, also not the biggest fan of the romulan warbird model, pity they couldnt show us stations or other art
n some of these models are the best ive ever seen just candy to me, like the steamrunner class the glows, the colour and gold grills on the front wow we should have a game rating the different ships
n the norway looks like its a warship with its thick armour wow
n klingon rewbe'yoh - big fan of the ktinga variants
n As far as gameplay goes tho, not the biggest fan of the cicle ship selection reticle The Space Combat of Star Trek: Infinite Space

Agreed on land combat, but I just felt that at higher speeds the space combat presented too many issues as far as control went, the keyboard control system was horrible, and the mouse flight system was unreliable, and whats more it was all pointless, because you STILL couldn't go straight up/down.
In many ways the old starfleet command series of games method of ship movement would have been FAR superior to that of STO

Well with a new company running things, and presumable at least SOME competent devs being brought in, it may be worth playing eventualy.

why is everyone so quick to knock the devs? They've got goals, pressures, deadlines, etc they've all got to meet. They're doing their best in most cases. And a lot of games don't turn out as good as expected because of production deadlines. I know because I've seen the end result of putting a goal on a product developer, then it was rushed to market because of our corporate deadline then it sucked. And complaining about timelines? I guess DOCA and Optec must suck because they aren't finished with the Borg redo yet?! Have some patience and understanding.

DOCA/OPTEC dont meet deadlines, they produce good shit instead.
Admitedly some of us (especially me) nitpick, but the core of what they do is good.
Cant say that about the past decade of official trek games

I spy the Trill ship from Birth of the Federation on the ship veiwer, I'm instantly sold if they use Sheliak and other NPC races from BOTF in that game.... or if this game has any semblance of a BOTF2 at all.

Why are you so quick to defend them and for christ sake stop comparing devs who get paid to meet deadlines and produce quality to modders who are doing a mod for NOTHING optec and cola dont have deadlines and they dont get paid, what they do is their choice and can take as long as they want.

Why are you all getting so heated over this. Just be happy that Star Trek is still alive and still has enough of a fan base to have a new game made. If it sucks it sucks, don't play it. If it rocks, play it. Stop arguing about the developers. I swear half of the people on here specifically look for a fight.
JUST APPRECIATE THAT A NEW OPTION FOR PEOPLE THAT LIKE STAR TREK GAMES ARE COMING OUT. Don't worry about the developers, no matter what they do your life will go on. I promise.
