The original version of Kirk's death from Generations. Evidently, test audiances didn't think it was 'heroic enough' and they gave us the death scene we all know and love.

Even dying, this version has Kirk being a nuisence to the enemy and chewing the scenery.

I like it better.  The only way for Soren to kill the infamous Captain Kirk (who he didn't recognize) is to shoot him in the back.  I personally think it plays a better homage to just how tough and reliable Kirk is, no matter the timeframe.

I think it's quite good. Kirk probably thought Soren was human, and El'Aurian's probably are a bit tougher than humans.

I doubt they're much tougher, their slower aging probably keeps them from weakening as fast as shorter-lived races.

I could think up a better ending then that.

If start trek dose not reinvent them self like they did with the last trek movie they will fade in to the dust of history.

Star trek as we know it is dead.

Yet they only knew that in the future. I know, quick, let's kill his great grandfather to get rid of the problem before it's even born because then there won't be a problem that will cause us to go back and kill his great grandfather before he's born and causes the problem which won't occur because we've killed his great grandfather before he's born which caused the problem that now doesn't exist which now doesn't cause us to go back in time to kill his great grandfather before he's born which didn't not never caused the problem or cause us to go back in time to...
