It wasn't my favourite either and I'd always prefer Tiberian Dawn and the original red alert, but it was the last C&C before Westwood Studios got eaten by the giants and C&C was turned into something that felt more like "any other average RTS out there".

i've never played skyrim (or any elder scrolls) i don't enjoy RPG as a genre at all. classic or new.
I think you focus too much on my very few specific examples and less on the message I tried to send, as you could take examples of any genre and any older game-franchise that is still having spin-offs and re-releases and sequels/prequels released. Sure, there are still a few good games being released here and there - but my personal best wishes and hopes go to independent or even non-professional developers who don't make games for money but for players.

i'm 100% with you on this.
games like minecraft are proof that you don't have to have the money behind CoD to make a good game. if anything cod MW2 and MW3 are pretty much just clones of MW1. so little has changed. CoD is becoming like fifa, they just release a new title with very few changes every year and expect people to pay full price for it. at least with fifa you're getting squad/player updates.
