Just for the record: I ACTUALLY LIKED NEMESIS (ok..with that said, I hope no one jumps and attempts to shoot a slug in my head). Unfortunately for Rick Berman and the current Trek franchise, Nemesis or as I like to call it Trek X: So Very Old and Tired (HAHA) did horrible at the box office. If I'm not mistaken, it only pulled $45 million gross in the U.S. which is pitiful when the Matrix: Reloaded pulled in more than twice that amount on its opening weekend. I thought it had a good conclusion to the TNG storyline and dare I actually say it: I actually enjoyed the plot twist of Data dying. (OK...PLEASE no one shoot me) :o I thought it was the right time to kill off a key character, most of the movies had gotten into a routine of Picard beating the bad guys and saving the day. But I truly think the TNG franchise is done and over with. I mean, seriously, how can anyone make another TNG movie, with most of the lead characters gone? (i.e. Riker, Troi, Crusher, and Data) Therefore I really think the next movie (which I highly doubt that there will be one anytime soon), should start afresh and anew. I like the ideas of other members of starting a new storyline with fresh Starfleet Academy graduates and their first assignments. If the movie does well, an actual decent series might emerge, unlike the current pitiful Enterprise. BTW...Enterprise had a great concept, of telling the Trek saga from the beginning. But it has totally lost that purpose. It now serves to serve a wham, bam, zap 'em approach which is totally alien to the Trek universe. It completely contradicts previous storylines. (I mean, I am the only one that notices that the look of the NX-O1 is light years ahead of the original NCC-1701 and even the TNG's Enterprise??!! I mean it totally makes no sense!!)

I would like to see a movie based on a totaly new series and then that leads to a new tv series, so instead of the first episode of a new series be a 2 hour special, it would be a movie ^_^

Knowing the lovely folks at paramount, they'll probably end the Enterprise series with a big movie that somehow ties in with the beginning of TOS. For example, the newest version of the enterprise will be manned by the TOS crew and capt. Christopher Pike. From there on is all....history??? :omg:

Also I just wanted to mention something else regarding what GoldenTiger24 said. GT24 was talking about a starship exiting a gas cloud-type thing after being cut off from the feds.....only to find that the federation is gone, and then the ship must round up alliances and colonize a new earth and stuff. I love the idea, except there's one little problem. This storyline is almost a clone of the Andromeda storyline, where a ship is trapped in time via a black hole, and exits 300 years later only to find his commonwealth shit the bed a few centuries back....yatta yatta yatta, amen. The point is, for a new ST series, the idea will have to be out of this world. I mean, like so far out of the box that you'll need a telescope to see the idea :P So get thinking everyone....it's gonna have to be an insanely cool idea. I still love yer idea GT24! :D

This isn't out of the blue, I'm not good at out of the blue stuff, but it ties into a TNG episode they didn't complete. Here goes...

The series begins on the notion of pirate patrol! A starship goes around, protecting other weaker starships from bigger bullies. However, as the series goes on, a plot is unravled that the pirates are actually funded by an alien government. Later on, more and more is unfolded about how deep the funding and help goes towards this end. More drastic things happen than pirate patrols, including attacks against some major civilian targets (space luxury liners, pleasure planets, and alike) and more is learned. Season finalie, the source for all of this is found, Starfleet does it, the Federation seemingly supports it, and the ship is now docked with a now enemy Federation Station. Come back, have some fights, and things get wacky. The Federation actually spins into a civil war of sorts, because some parts of the Federation are responsible for these actions and some parts are innocent, however nobody can tell the differences and previously innocent ships and crews all of a sudden turn evil.

The ending will not be told. The plot that is happening is an alien infestation that infected the Federation a while ago in a foolish manner. They had a queen (Bartley) and the people who were infected had a cone on the back of their neck (that was an alien lifeform wrapped around the spinal collumn) and medical scans showed the infestation. I consider this phase one. Phase two involves alien creatures that go into the brain (ALA ST II, I think...) and control from there. They cannot be detected on scanners (they are engineered to be resistant to scans). They do have a queen (who knows where) and they can make more queens if they need to. The queen facilitates nearly instant communication between members (ALA the Borg). The members of this group can only be differentiated by loosing older parts of their memories (childhood, a few years ago, etc) but if that member knows they are going to be tested, they can study up.

In other words, initially it seems like the Federation is going insane, yet they are not, they are just becomming possessed. Also, while this is going on, the other major races try to make things worse for the Feds. However, what nobody knows (and what comes out later) is that the aliens are infesting other races too, and will start spreading problems amongst those races too.

In the TNG episode that featured this alien race, there was a rumor of invasion too. That can be mixed in later.

The whole idea here is to play with the mysterious aspect. The crew has no clue what the heck is going on, thus they go through some stressful times. Also, they try to form (going back to my own Andromidaish idea) their own base of operations and alike to stage a resistance movement and a way of getting the Federation back (at this point only kinda able to find the aliens) and this little home base gets inflitrated, starting to really screw things up with the small command chain they form...

well, the idea is all there. Confusion leads to rebellion which leads to a quadrent in chaos which leaves the whole area ripe for invasion. The hardest part is finding a way of comming out of this mess, and that is what the whole series will be about.
