New Star Trek (Abrams Universe) Coming Out

Oh yeah Birth 2 thats what im waiting for too!  Unfortunately there hasnt been much progress there as of late, I hope he is still working on it.

Hmm, if they can create an athmosphere like in the Elite Force games I'm all for it. Basically I don't think the shooter genre fits to Star Trek though, since Star Trek is not about shooting other people all the time. Too bad they didn't realize that in STO. But if they make it like Elite Force with much love in creating the Star Trek universe it cen become a great experience.
But if it gets a movie oriented game - it will be bad, all games related to movies directly are generally bad.  Although I had much fun with the Generations game, from an objective point of view it wasn't a good game. Same for Insurrection.

yeah a shooter will probably not feel very trek like. elite force (1 or 2) had way too many guns to be trek like. enemies taking more than 1 phaser shot was also annoying. not saying ef/ef2 was bad, just saying it didnt feel like real trek.

a "real trek" fps would be slower, less weapons, 1 hit kills/stuns. more like rainbow six (i love the early r6 games, everything raven shield and below was awesome, then they just became like other shooters)

Mhm... it does look good...

Somehow I am thrilled and want to see more... that's bad... still a year...

Edit: I saw something very bad... there is only the Playstation emblem! Hope it will come out for XBox 360 too!

It's suppose to come out on both Xbox360 and PS, plus a PC version as well. So all major gaming platforms are covered.

oi shut up, wii is awesome, if it wasnt then people would buy more ps3/360 than wii. not that those other 2 are bad, they are also good. just not as popular. for once each console has its own position, where brand isnt the only difference. 360 has the unique titles (and recently kinect), ps3 has the strongest hardware and wii has unique titles and started with the unique hardware and is the most accessible.

I'm still wondering if theirs going to be some kind of ship combat.  As in "I'm controlling a ship in space and pew-pewing other ships!" aspect to the game.  Looks like it'll have a shuttlecraft landing mini-game, and even some jumping around in space stuff, but I'm not sure I'd be as heavily invested without space combat with ships.  It'd also be nice if they'd throw in some other bridge officers to play as, but maybe those will get added as they get closer to completion.

I'm also hoping it works with the new 3D multiplayer thing that ends the need for split screen.  That'd be uber cool if all the games at E3 were coming out with that!  Which they really should, since all of E3's big titles were pretty much FPS...

Hell yeah R6 is sweet as hell. Totally agree with you on anything before raven shield, after that they went from hardcore to your average console shooter, very unfortunate IMO. I still play Raven shield alot, just need more people!
