this isnt the place for this argument. you dont decide what is canon. ent is canon.

And in that case, I shall ignore Roddenberry, as he no doubt assumed that new material would be competently produced.

you wanna ignore the creator of star trek? he is the 1 person most qualified to say what is canon. he is a genius and you are just a troll, i'd much rather believe him. trek contradicts itself all the time, every series did it. if u wanna cut trek down enough to get rid of all contradictions then you wont have any trek left. you will have like 5 episodes of TOS and thats it. not even enough for a dvd box set. you have to accept the contradictions.

Yup. He's not as great as the mythos that has been built up arround him. He deserves respect, yes, however a big part of that is actually holding his legacy, trekdom, to a real standard.
