maybe it was oversight. they kinda showed how preoccupied they were being kidnapped and running and all. maybe that was the intended effect. i find the main problem with nemesis to be the direction.
If a director like Spielberg were involved, the overall outcome would be much differnt - even with the same nutty script. :sweatdrop:

I saw the movie today

for a movie i would give it a B+
for a startrek movie i would give it a C-

so many innacuracies

not my least favorite, but it would have been better if they moped up the innacuracies
ships going to warp with no nacells, pffff. and fed ships woth one saucer and three main hulls again, pfff.

when did a ship g to warp with no nacelle?

If your on about the Romulan Ship, your find it just had inlined Nacelles to help imply its futuristic...

As for one of th three ships that warped to go help Vulcan that had three hulls, that actually isnt in accurate... Its been in quite a few Star Trek games, one of those being Star Trek Klingon Academy, hell it as even one of the greatest Armada One mods, the millenium Project as an early dreadnaught....

i think some of the hulls were actually warp nacells. they are larger and rounder in the new movie, the Kelvin you can see in the beginning is a good example. The only two points that cought me were the statement that kirks dad saved 800 lives - that looks like far to many people for the kelvin - and the order of.. i think it was Cardassian Sunrise, but well you could say that Cardassia was long long before the official first contact, due to interstellar trading. Besides that i like the movie. The actors matched their "heritage" far better then i feared in the first place

Anything with a whity-blueish endcap IS a nacelle and not a secondary (tertiary) Hull :P
Just remember how the Nacelle ended on the Kelvin and finally on the Enterprise... those things were really the nacelles :)
Spoilers actually Double-secured :D
And I actually liked the new Warp effect, especially the powering down of the Impulse Engine the rather long "Loading-Sequence" and than BANG jump to Warp, that was more than awesome, with the seats shaking from that deep bang, really cool :D

You're right about the spoiler. I really startled a bit when they first did that. :) I just wasn't expecting it to be like that.

i was going to mention some were nacelles but couldnt exactly picture the ship in my head, if it had three hulls and two nacelles or 2 hulls and 2 nacelles...

anyway, i have toa gree, th moment he said 800 lives i thought "the kelvin wont that big and there was only about 20 shuttle craft that hold about 10 people each, so try 200...

thats what i thought about the shuttels too, but mabye the romulan mining ship was off to idont know kill some small colony, then again mabye pike lied to get Kirk riald up

as for the hulls/nacells things
i must still presist that they were not nacells, i too have seen ships with mutiple hulls, im not saying thats unlikly, but i mean look at the things, ther is no resembalance to nacells, and arent they supposed to glow red on the ram scoup?
why diddant the kelvin hace one ram scoup, it looked like it had two primary hulls
she looks like a saladin class, but with necells replaced with hulls.

The Bussard Collectors are a bit changed in this movie (like most of the looks)... if you looke closely there is a reddish orange ring of light around the front cap of the Kelvin Nacelle, so the small thing there was actually the Bussard Collector but now it looks more like modern day Jet Engines, then to have just a cap of whirling red in it.
And so do the Ships that depart from the Starbase, besides I can't remember seeing one of those ships from the front side, only a side view and then the back when they jump to warp, but believe me... those things with the whity light at the back were actually the nacelles (Secondary Hulls would have had Shuttlebays in it ;) ) and I like the look :) Now they actually look like something like that would be a big engine for FTL-Travel and not those fragile one-hit-kills-it things like on the NX or even on the Ent-D (remember the Episode with the Bozeman? A Miranda survived while completely destroying one nacelle... the Ent-D was destroyed by just scratching it!)

So better is... don't try to match the look of the '60s Series with the look of this movie and just believe us that those things were nacelles, just with another look...

When does FO take place? Because the Romulus star will go nova in 2397 (if I'm right).

They had very strange ways to use Stardates. Sounded as if they were using somthing like "Stardate YYYY.XX". I was a bit upset about that...

Just read on Memory Alpha that they say it 2387, not 97. Either I heard it wrong or the German dubbing had it wrong. But at least the 7 was right. :D

I'm gonna go have a "Cardassian Sunrise" and re-watch "NEMESIS"....ugh, I have such a headache from trying to justify my enjoyment of "Star Trek." Let's talk about "Star Trek: The Movie" compared to "Star Trek (2009)" and see how we all feel afterwards! Ha. The soundtrack is stuck in my head also. Drag. I'm gonna have to seek out a bit torrent for that one....

st 2009 was superb. but one point im not sure of - uhura asking for a cardassian sunrise....did the feds have contact with the Cardassians in Kirk's century?

I think 100 years later or something...  ^-^

Small error ;)

Well, that being said, the destruction of the Kelvin and whatever Nero did...in the years that Kirk grew up could have had such a temporal impact that the Federation met the Cardassians relatively early?

Official Contact may be 100 Years later but that doesn't mean that some merchants didn't already fly that far and purchased enough of that drink, that a Starfleet Bar could have it in there assortment ;)
