Picard, no doubt about it, he had charisma, just something special about him. Sisko was good too. Didnt like Janeway much.

I liked really all of them, but i would have liked to seen more of Ben Maxwell, who of course wasnt listed . Captain Ben Maxwell. As far as the series i liked Archer. If iam not mistaken he commanded the U.S.S. Phoneix.

"Get Off My Poll."

Janeway kicked the most ass.  Could you really see Picard throw Riker in the brig and hunt down an errant fellow Captain, tossing torpedo's into their ship until it exploded?  No.

If you're really going to hold contempt for someone who likes to mess with the prime directive when it suits them (circumstances aside) ... I don't know, go watch your star wars...

Anyone who tosses back that much coffee is a bad-ass, no exceptions.

I can hear Tyler getting ready to troll already, so preemptive strike!
QUOTE FROM TYLER:they murdered a sentient because they put their personal feelings before the fact that Tuvix had as much right to live as anyone else.

To acknowledge 'Tuvix' would be to erase the rights of Tuvok & Neelix. (2>1)  The needs of the many, baby, don't forget that.

Doesn't work that way, logics biggest flaw is that it can be used to justify anything, not matter how wrong (as Janeway herself said, I think). They weren't even dead, they were still around, both part of him. He doesn't get that luxury, he was simply gone.

The entire episode was spent showing that he was an independent person, then having him dragged by security to be forced into it, ingoring him begging them to stop. Even forcing the doctor to watch. Murder is murder, no matter your reasons. It wouldn't be a problem if the show made him out to be just a combination of them and not a person, but it didn't do that.

If two of your friends 'disappeared' and you could find them by murdering someone who had n part in it, would you do it? Would you consider that justified?

My vote goes for Sisko.
Picard was the better diplomat of course, but also only a thinker.
Of course the last season killed the interesting things about him being the emissary, but until then there was a lot of development and conception behind his character. Not to mention the interesting fact that he was the stand-alone father for quite some time.

Im gonna have to vote Janeway because Kate Mulgrew is awesome and I've seen her. Ive seen William Shatner too but he never took on the borg!

Had he, all he would have had to do was take off his shirt and the Borg would surrender in awe of the presence of the perfect body. :P

No contest, Captain Kirk was the best.  Kirk could negotiate, get the ladies, kick ass, and beat the no-win scenario....

Though I voted Picard, I agree with Clint's view of Kirk except for the no-win scenarion. He never beat it, since he reprogrammed it to a no-lose instead.

Best captain of his era, but with a perculiar phobia of shirts.

Hmm hard to choose, all of them had flaws.

Picard is too attached to his rules and regulations. And gets half his ships destroyed until he finally DISABLES the enemy ship. I found him a lot better in the movies though.
Kirk rather gets his ship blown to pieces then follow the suggestion of an officer, just to show who's boss.
Sisko took his revenge on the Marquis too far, but at least he knew when to fire back.
The Dominion war probably wouldnt have been won if it wernt for him and Garak.
Janeway already failed in the first episode: its called a time detonator, please look it up in the replicator menu.
Always made me think the only reason Voyager survived is because they had a contract.
Archer was psycho in some episodes, havnt seen all of them though because i couldnt stand ENT.

I guess Sisko and Picard were probably the best. With Sisko getting bonus for strategy and Picard for diplomacy.

Picard, all the way.

Expert diplomat, strategist, a very skilled pilot, a fencer, Gowron's Arbiter of Succession, one of the only humans who could simultaneously shame and intimidate a klingon warrior, AND was an honorable man.

He did everything in his power to uphold the ideals and regulations of Starfleet instead of taking the easy way out, because he said he would when he joined it.  He could be trusted, and that counts for a great deal.

Sisko was under the influence of crazy aliens from a wormhole.
Kirk was talented, but also an egomaniac.
Archer was too self-centered.
Janeway...I wouldn't trust her for shit.  She meddled in things all the time because she was so convinced that her opinion on it was infallibly right.  That very behavior is why the Prime Directive had to be made.  And the moment she wasn't being watched, she started to ignore it.  Like a little kid who realizes their parents aren't here, and the cookie jar is on the counter.
