 in real life the ships don't make a bit of sense design-wise - after all, they are only there to look good  :whistling:

All STO is doing is creating a completely new style, while Frankensteining the old vessels and grafting them on their new style.

So who made the fan made one?  I've always been curious.

The Fanmade thing is nothing but an absolutely ugly wannabe uber ship... I so hate this thing!

But I like the version of the Bridge of it in KM ^^

Good question... I'd think it came from a fan-series, maybe if someone looks through that, they can find out?

I remember hearing that it came out of the ultimate universe mod for legacy, but I never looked to see who did that project.  I'm not even sure if they came up with it originally, but most of my searches seemed to point to them.

I like the fanmade version better though it seems too big. Scaled down to the size of the Sovy I'd really like it. Star Trek told us that bigger doesn't mean better.  :whistling:

Lies!! They are all Lies!!

A bigger fleet is better than a smaller one.  plus, a bigger ship is more expencive, and has more weapons, which means its better.  Aaanddd the excalibur(fan made) is as big as a fleet of sabers, so that means

Excalibur=BIG=better :thumbsup:  :D :sweatdrop:

Your statement is an oxymoron though  . How can you have a bigger fleet if you have less ships because you built bigger ones?  :sweatdrop:

Maybe the ego of each member of the crew counts as one ship?

I fail to see that "more weapons" is better. a SSD filled with slinghots will have a freaking amount of weapons. Their damage, though... Well...

Also, "more expencive" (sic) doesn't mean better. I'd bet that a Death Star armed with pea-shooters is "teh expencive", but I wouldn't be very impressed by it...

Take the backbone of the DarkSithian Imperial fleet, the Helios-class battlecruiser... On second thought, don't. Never mind. :sweatdrop:

I was not being serious

take the defiant for example.  it is extreamly powerful, and yet very small.

the best gifts come in very small packages :sweatdrop:

but I still like the fan made excalibur better

I like neither.

I feel the fan-made is ST version of e-peen, and the other is just a Constitution class with a TNG look.

BTW, is it the same that appears here?

I still think the best Excalibur is the one that appears in B5: Crusade.

If you mean the two 'mini-Starbases' at the start, those are Excaliburs.

Absolutely 100% correct, my friend.  That is a ship worthy of the name Excalibur. B)

Isn't that Excalibur the '3-winged Jaffa Staff Weapon'? How does the name apply to a ship that can't even fire its main weapon without killing its own power?
