hi ya all just wondering has anyone else ever noticed the shear size of the dominion forces that the alpha alliance had to defeat in the dominion war i was watching the episode of ds9 the other night where worf kills gowron and its stated the klingons are deploying 1500 ships while the roms and feds adapt their ships to counter the breen but they were still outnumbered 20-1 this means the dominion had over 30,000 ships at there disposal and still lost

Never under estimate the power of a Klingon!

Depends on the leader and Era... If Gowron was in charge, not a chance. If it is TOS-era, not a chance.

I feel that Gowron was more of a politician than a military leader.

Which is unfortunate because the Klingon High Chancellorship demands a pretty high level of ability in both.

Personally I say put Martok in charge for a while and see what happens.

Edit: typo

Don't forget the Cardassians turned on the Dominion.... I'm confident they made up a good chunk of the Dominion fleet...

Appearentally not...

Recap: Martok becomes Chancellor of the Klingon Empire, Worf accepts to be Martok's political assistant. They return to Q'onos together and remain there until Worf later takes command of the Defiant (destroyed in the battle of Wolf 359 in First Contact). After him being rescued from the blazing Defiant in Wolf 359, worf resumes charge as tactical officer under the name Enterprise once again. ;)

The Dominion most likely outnumbered the Cardassians, even without counting the Breen. They were using the Cardassians as cannon-fodder during the war, so the Cardassians would have lost more ships.

Hate to birst your bubble, but that's a saying said frequently in my region...

Your mum outnumbered us 20 to 1.

Not saying, theres 20 mums, merely saying shes got more power

More power = overpower.
Bigger numbers = outnumber.

Someone is outnumbered because the enemy has bigger numbers. The Klingons were outnumbered 20-to-1 because the Dominion had 20x the number of ship (as far as the alliance knew, at least).

That wasn't Wolf 359.  That was the Battle of Sector 001.  It was alot like Wolf 359, however, until Picard showed up.

And the defiant wasn't destroyed. And First Contact was set during DS9, as was Insurrection.
