Who should win

Allright folks we have one more battle until the intro is finished. As Im sure many of you know I am using the standard cube after the last pole, but I need to know one more thing. Who do you want to win. As of now I'm planning on having the feds wiped out cause I think they deserve it, but who do you guys want to win? Should the feds automaticaly win cause they are the good guys or should they finaly succomb to assimilation? Its up to you. The vote will end in two days so I can get things wrapped up.

I'd say keep it open. If this battle is the ending of the intro, the audience doesn't need to see a victor.

I agree, a shot of a damaged fleet, heading for a cube could be pretty cool.  I don't see a need for an end, because its not the end...its the beginning

I think the last (ambiguous) ending is best - it's the most cold, and scary thing out there

Yeap, I agree with what the others have said.  Adm. Zs description of a damaged fleet going after the cube and then it fades to black would be awesome.

Well the fed fleet isnt damaged, it was destroyed by rommies. The feds still have a few ships left, but the cube is coming for the fed base. So you guys want a cube approaching the federation base and then thats it?

Hehe maybe I should add an option.

Voyager comes with transphasic torpedoes and blows it up in one shot!

where is the option for the feds destroy the cube and then die in the blast lol. Actually i say dont determine the winner, just show them trading shots back and forth. Blow up a coupe of small fed ships though.

Here is a montage. The fedies are at a time at peace. All the admirals are on Risa having drinks in celebration of peace. And suddenly a Priority 1 comes in. A transmission of the USS (insert name here) has encountered a fleet of 4000 Cubes headed towards earth (each the size of the 359 Cube).

I think you can take it from here. Remember, this is in the FO era. No Transphasics or massively distributed super armor.

4000 cubes? rubbish.

i think the feds should win, but then have the green lights of the damaged husk of the not destroyed cube turn back on ominously. its cliché but i would love it

Actually, that one sounds cool too. I would vote for both, but don't make a winner.  just have it end with neither winning, or maybe you could do the same for the feds?

fleet almost destroyed and a descent warps in and recharges their shields right before the cube gets there.  that would be the most realistic for FO canon.

Hmmmmmm............ a couple good ideas.

I like the idea of the Cube detonating and knocking other ships asunder. The visual of a blast wave coming off a cube and rocking the surrounding ships has dramatic value.

but since that's not a function of the game, it might be misleading, so I'd have to otherwise go with the ambiguous "we are the borg" ending

I went with the last option, but I agree with you funnystuff, it's about time the Feds got a whooping. I think what would be awesome is a Fed fleet engages the Borg Cube, it is an intense fight, but the Cube manages to take the upper hand. Make it look like the Cube is just walking all over the Fed fleet (though the Feds would damage the Cube abit), then finally the Feds only have a few ships remaining, the rest derelict and desroyed, then the Borg Cube locks onto one of the remaining Fed vessels with a holding beam (probly an Intrepid plz  ), there are no more shots being fired, wait with a few seconds of silence, then the Borg broadcast thier message of doom: "We are the Borg. You will be assimilated. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance, is futile...". Then the screen goes dark. FIN. 

So the vid does not really show who wins ( cos Voyager could turn up out of nowhere and fire one shot and pwn the Cube  ), but it gives the sense that the Borg have won. It also would bring back the terror the Borg had. And, that truely, resistance, is, futile!

Perhaps have the Cube transwarp in in front of the Federation fleet, have the screen cut to black after a moment, play the Borg hail, then have the logo fade in.
