Ugh, a loss for all geeks.

Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

I don't know if any of y'all care, but the SciFi Channel is changing its name to shed its geeky image. :on2long:  It will be called (as of 7/7/09 ) SyFy.  :yucky: http://www.tvweek.com/news/2009/03/sci_fi_channel_aims_to_shed_ge.php  http://scifiwire.com/2009/03/sci-fi-channel-to-become.phpSee for your self, and tell what you think.

:yucky: indeed. Though I dont get that chanell no more cause of idiot cable company not giving same service to the rural area as they do to the village.

Ugh... well, we will still refer them as the same. At least we are not required by law to change whoe we spell Scifi!

Is the rumor that they'll stop playing TNG on scifi (oh, excuse me! Syfy!) channel true?

UPDATE: Mrs. Dom just called the name change "gross"

Sad news about MJ... jeez  :(

nah, none of the "SciFi channel original" shows are very good.  There are some exceptions, like the show eureka, and some others, but usually they stink. :sweatdrop:

Yeah, Eureka is pretty good, I don't know how that town survived all those years before they got their new sheriff tho, he saves the day in almost every episode  B)

Personally I don't care what the channel calls itself, the loss would actually be the day sci-fi as a genre no longer exists.

I didn't mind MJ's music, hearing he died is saddening... on another note Farrah Fawcett also died today.

Tng Is widely sydicated still so dont worry too much bout missing it....Of course I have all 7 seasons on vhs so I dont exactly need the tv stations to air it. Sci-Fi chanell has been In a long long decline...In fact in the tv listings I saw some movies that had abosolutely zero to do with sci-fi listed for scifi chanell....Oh Im sorry I mean syfy chanell...Im gonna pronounce it as sif-fee....whats next Spike is gonna change its name to "spiffy"?

I think it's kind of ironic. SyFy seems geekier because it's like it tries to be cool and fails.
