I agree that the government shouldn't endorse religion, but saying "acts of God" doesn't count. If my house insurance policy excluded coverage for damage caused by the borg, I wouldn't consider that an endorsement. Mentioning a thing does not qualify as endorsing its existence, because a proper name has a fluid meaning. Learned that in my Logic class.
One thing I want to note, though. Atheists are VERY VERY pushy about their beliefs in America these days. Whenever it gets mentioned in normal conversation, people seem to have trouble believing it. Go to just about any college, any academic environment and you'll find professors scoffing about religion from their podiums in front of hundreds of students. Criticism is loud and unopposed. Now obviously not every single one is like this, but some colleges harbor an organized, government-funded system of discrimination against non-atheist religions. It's become the status quo.
