very sorry to hear that, sucks losing a pet. My mom recently had to put down her cat which we all grew up with, (thing lasted almost 18 years).
So what are you gonna use to power your computer now?

Tis a sad day indeed. Perhaps a Feature Request to honour Stella Piggie...
"Stella" Class
Role: Rescue Ship
Background: Ships of this kind have been used by Federation Civilians and Starfleet, to a lesser degree, as maintainence ships for older decrepid vessels, in the frontier regions of Federation Space; where the convenience of a stardock has not been consistent. In this capacity, a Stella class vessel can breath life into an ailing ship, at least long enough for it to travel to a safer region of space.
The most notable ship of this class was known as "Piggie"; made famous by her many rescues of friendly vessels in and around enemy borders, during the Dominion War. "Piggie" salavaged many sticken ships before finally being declared missing along the Cardassian Border. In the years after the war; rumours circulated of how "Piggie" fended off a Dominion Battleship, against all odds, by attaching itself to the battleships hull and overloading her own power grid to cause a power surge throughout the battleship. The brave actions of Piggie's crew resulted in the destruction of the battleship, as well as the unfortunate loss of Piggie; thereby saving the lives of crews aboard two stricken Starfleet cruisers. A report from one of the technical staff aboard one of the many rescued ships, stated that their ships main computer seemed to run much more efficiently after interfacing with "Piggie". Starfleet engineers are still trying to verify the inner dynamics of the Gemini Interface.
Implementation
The vessel itself, differs from the Newton Class in that a Stella class ship does not directly repair the target ship but attaches itself to it instead; acting as a kind of lifesupport unit for the target ship. Both vessels then effectively become as one, where the Stella Class vessel can donate its own systems to supplement that of the stricken ship, along an umbilical chord between both vessels. The combined vessel may then use all of its systems, regardless of damage taken by sharing revelant systems between both ships. This ship, could well be a more unique replacement to the ailing Newton Class.
The Stella Class Itself
Offence: 0
Defence: 16
System: 22
Special Energy: 240
Special Ability: Gemini Interface
Special Ability - Gemini Inteface
Stella Class vessel may choose a damaged vessel to attach to. Both ship become as one, until the special energy reserves are depleted (SE is depleted at a rate of 10 points per second and starting energy of the combined vessel is worked out by adding the reserves that were present on the stricken vessel to the reserves of the Stella Class).
Offense: -10%
Defence: -5%
System: +15%
(Offence and Defence decrease as it become harder to coordinate two ships while System value increases to account for the supplemented systems from the Stella)
Engines: +25% Speed (allowing for speedier escapes. Engines are also +25% resistent to disabling)
Special Weapons of target ship are disabled as energy is syncronised between both ships.
The Gemini Interface effect is ended when either Special Energy runs out or when the vessel reaches a shipyard for repairs. In both cases, both vessels are separated.
Experience
Experience is added for every ship that is rescued successfully and returned to a shipyard. Veteran Stella Class ships gain the ability to reverse the Gemini Sync effect to become a weapon. The ship gains the ability to reverse polarity and attach to an enemy vessel, incurring the following effects.
0-10 secs
Vessel suffers -5% Offence, -5% Defence, -5% System
11-20 secs
Vessel suffers -10% Offence, -10% Defence, -10% System, +10% random system malfunctions.
21-30 secs
Vessel suffers -15% Offence, -15% Defence, -15% System, +20% random system malfunctions.
31 secs
Vessel explodes; destroying both ships.
If the enemy vessel manages to return to a shipyard before 31s then it will be saved, while the Stella Class vessel is lost.
Summary
This ship could replace the Newton Class as a Rescue ship as oppose to a Repair Ship. Eventually, a veteran Stella would gain the ability to use it's special against the enemy.
