Just want to rant for a minute

Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

I didn't see anything about FO in there*, but it is definitely illegal.  Even if he made it all himself, he is selling them.

It is disturbing.  I will look into it myself, as this could be a serious issue.

*Never mind, I did see something about fleet operations mods.

Mods include:
Fleet Operations mods

First on the list.

Also, the one below looks like the Merciless Klingon AI that Freyr developed recently.
new AI that makes the Klingon Hard AI... hard

Also has some other well known mods such as Borg Incursion 2. I'm sending messages to Freyr, Starfleet Kid, and Majestic.

yeah, I posted a thread on MSFC.  It may include some of jetfreak's re textures, and Fahres's GUI mods.  I can't say for sure, but it also has the b5 mod, ans SWFC.

There can only be one answer: Sue him or have someone do it.  >:(

unfortunately, no one person can sue him.  In fact, you couldn't sue him for money, all you can do is make him give any money back, and I doubt you would be able to do even that.  We'll see how it turns out though.

They're distributing unlicensed Star Wars material for profit. If George Lucas finds out he'll probably sue him into oblivion. J. Michael Straczynski also has a claim due to the Babylon 5 material. And lets not forget Paramount, with all that Star Trek stuff.

You can't? I'm pretty sure that even with Activision not being in the Armada-business anymore their lawyers would be interested in making sure that Activision's copyright is respected.
In fact I can imagine a whole lot of people to whom this guy's copyright infringements might be of concern.

The EULA asks you to contact Activision if anybody approaches you to sell you work commercially.  He didn't ask, but i've emailed them anyway asking what their intentions are.

If I don't hear anything back i'll consider emailing the seller directly and CC'ing eBay's legal department.  He doesn't own what he's selling, and it's not licensed from any of the developers involved.

Under British law, any of the developers can sue him and the A2 EULA only prevents us from selling things for a profit.  To the best of my understanding (I spent the better part of 7 years working for a Solicitors practice) it doesn't prevent us from receiving money from a court settlement for copyright infringement.
