I'm Back!
Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

Hey people! Guess who found his Armada II disk? Where was it?
In my old PC's disk drive... (Which would only open after a complete re-formatting, thank you Tech-Guys!)
I must say, the last version of Fleet Ops I played was... uh... well it was over a year ago! I really like the new effects, though the Photon Torps look more like pulses; just something I'll have to get used to!
I've been on here since July '09, and this is only my 11th post; not good, I'll have to get my spam circuits fixed

You were not here just because you couldnt find your a2 disk? why not just use a nocd crack or get the iso you own the game so its not ilegal in anyway.

Cause that's not legal

Are you talking about an ISO or No-CD crack? Because I don't think an ISO would be any problem.

if he makes an iso himself its definitely legal as you are allowed a backup copy incase your disc gets broken. if he downloads an iso from the internet then its slightly more grey.
anybody who downloads a game illegally could just say they owned a copy and lost it

You do realize that CD drives have that little hole in the that you can put something like a paperclip in and pop it open manually right.

Also, quit hijacking my thread!
The issue isn't that the disk drive wouldn't open, the issue was that I completely forgot it was there.
Old PC gfx card died while playing Fleet Ops, replaced, then got constant BSOD. Throughtout all this, I forgot the disk was still in there! I only found it today because I've sorted the old PC out for parents.
Anywho, glad to be back!

It is legal like myles said, both the nocd crack and the downloading of an iso.
You can download a copy or create your own backup so long as you still own the disk, losing the game means you dont own it anymore so it would be ilegal but... who can say they honestly care ^^
Anyway welcome back to the scene Major Magna, now get on tunngle and start playing again.

Tunngle? is that kinda like Wippien? (I used Wippien before I vanished...)

tunngle does way more than wippien. its much easier to install and use.

Thanks a lot, will sort out tomorrow, as I can remember how much time I spend forwarding ports for my old PC...

Whats funny is a year or so back (forget if it was with this account or not) I couldnt find my disc, and was using a no-cd crack to play, and got flamed off the forum for it when I asked for support in getting the mod to work.
and unnystuffpictures , if you actualy DO have the game legaly, you can crack it, decompile the .exe, pirate it (DL it anyway) all day long, perfectly legal.
Its the downloading when you DONT have it, or uploading it to share that is illegal.
Makes me rememebr back when I was in the army, this guy got sued by some game company for pirating their games. He took them to court, and came away with a boatload of cash in a settlement.
Turns out he had the discs. They were in a foot locker, which was delayed (for months) being shipped from his last duty station to the one he was at were I met him. So he goes into the court with the foodlocker. Sealed. And an army postal handler bearing witness that it hadnt been opend.
So tehy pop it open, and right on the top of the footlocker........ his game CD folders. Complete with the ones he was accused of pirating.
Needless to say, it was stuck to the man in that one.
