webmail like gmail can now be put as an app tab, which will keep it handy, maybe you'll find you dont need a notifier then.

I usually don't update straight away to a new major Firefox update if the plugins aren't already up to date with the latest release.

since ff4 went through beta for quite a while, a lot of addons are already compatible with 4. all mine were ready, even before the RC. adblock+, noscript, speed dial, tab mix plus, xmarks (was using it before, now have firefox sync by default), image zoom (got rid of that too).
i'd guess other widely used addons would be up to date as well.

I have used FF for a day now, and though it is fast, I see no noticeable difference between FF and Chrome, except that Chrome still launches a little faster. That and the fact that I have all my bookmarks, notes, history, and extensions synched to my multipole PC's so I don't have to think about it, so Chrome is more convenient.
Are there any Chrome users out there that have noticed new features in FF that are notable?

Doesnt for me, I went back to the last 3.6 version.
Nebula_Class_Ftw wrote:@Tok'ra: I use all-in-one sidebar to manage addons (it works well at this, also good for history), which last I checked was incompatible.![]()
My problem was I couldnt even ADD addons.
it'd give me a popup asking if I DID want to do it (new security measure, cool, dont mind that).
But I click to allow..... and nothing.

Same. In my defence, I was out sick from work with food poisoning when I did it (last time I grab breakfeast at that place lol)

I use chrome, mostly because I'm too lazy to look at other browsers. But we'll see.
You know what's going to be freaky? Someday our kids are going to tell us about FF7 and we'll be like, "Man that takes me back. What an awesome JRPG game that was."
They'll look at us weird and say, "What the **** are you talking about, it stands for FireFox 7."

that security feature of asking to install addons has been there since before version 4. i know for a fact that version 3 asks you to verify you wanna install addons.
maybe its having trouble writing to your profile directory for some reason.

I'm using firefox 4.0 on my laptop and looks fine so far... I do hate how the 2nd option when you right click is open new tab in a new window though... old Firefox , the 2nd option was opening in new tab

Exactly, all those pointless little changes that are simply designed to throw people off.
