DO NOT INSTALL IT.

It is buggy as all get out.

Wait for a patch.

Apparently for some reason I cant even VIEW my installed addons.

Some people have no problem, some people have it worse than me (in my case, even nuking addons with safe mode doesnt help and addons stay).

Massive, and retarded, changes, such as the status bar at the bottom being gone. So now you cannot mouseover a link and see what it actually links to unless you know to install an addon that returns that functionality.

Its like microsoft took over.

Hey, I know I don't got a ton of cred around here, cuz all I do is watch what people post, but I've been running the beta 4 of Firefox since it was at beta version 6....which was quite a while ago. Just to show that, for some people, it works fine, I have NO issues with the addon viewer. The status bar IS gone, but whenever I mouse over a link, a small notification at the bottom of the page pops up, letting me know where it'll take me.

It still runs WAY better than IE, though I have yet to thoroughly test IE 9 (Oddly enough, I've heard that it actually runs quite well).

I would actually recommend that people download it.

I have heard fro my friends that it has a bit of a bug, but I have realty seen the problem yet. They told me that it hangs up and crashes when used in multiple tabs or sites. I don’t know if it is true but still I would like to try using it.

dont call things massive and retarded if u havnt even bothered figuring out how firefox 4 works yet.

as aux ab alto said, hovering over a link will show the url at the bottom.

also there is a bar called the addon bar. right click the title bar and select addon bar, now you can put addon icons like noscript down there like before.

i cant replicate your addon manager bug, works fine for me, ive been using since early betas as well.

all the browsers look similar now really, its part of a general move to more screen space for browsing, and better performance. personally i prefer it, gets the job done and leaves me more space for browsing.

a new feature of firefox 4 that i think people will like is that ability to resize text areas (like the forum's white box for entering text to post) without the need for an addon. the bottom right corner has a little triangular thing to drag resize it. works well in the vertical dimension on fleetops.net, but not well horizontally.

like aux ab alto, i recommend getting ff4, its great. ie has made massive improvements, ie9 for once is not years behind ff, its months behind. the main advantage of ff is the fact that security problems get fixed really fast for ff, while ie still takes a long time for patches. the second most important advantage for me is addons.

EDIT:

also funnily, firefox 4 has been out for less time than ie9 but has already been downloaded twice as much as ie9 :woot:

@Tok'ra: I use all-in-one sidebar to manage addons (it works well at this, also good for history), which last I checked was incompatible. :crybaby: :crybaby:
