Well, these are some of my all-time Favorites,

hey, stop laughing at me, its a great, catchy song!

Rick Astley- NEver Gonna Give You Up

the second one is slightly, questionable, but it has epic bass lines and shit.  forget the "theme" of this and listen to the bass! THE BASS! and plus The Mystical Knights of Oingo Boingo are a effing epic band.

Oingo Boingo- Little Girls

@Serpicus

:lol: You made that topic right after our game ... cool!

Goerge Michael is great. I particularly like "I Can't Make You Love Me".

@Lumpybob

I'd never lough about the music you like. These songs are good. The only thing I really have to laugh about is Astley's style of dancing.  :D

So here are my favourites:

One of Image's extraordinary videos from 1984: "I want to break free"
The american MTV refused to play it then.

YouTube - Queen - I want to break free

Another importand Queen music video is of course the "Bohemian rhapsody", which is most famous for being that video, which started the devopement of a music video industy. "I'm going slighly mad" i need to recommend.

Now another favourite of the 80s and 90s is Meat Loaf. If you got really much time I suggest watching the video of "Objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are" from 1993. A most impassionate song with is in some sections definitly autobiographic. It is not only a long song (over 10min in the original version) but also has the longest title ever for a top40 hit.

If you wanna hear real Roch'n'Roll, that spurs your feet, then watch "Dead ringer for love" of 1981 featueing a young Cher.

I finally found something that represents Vienna in a proper way (many people know Falco's "Rock me Amadeus" so i didn't take tht one). Unfortunatly it's german ant there was never an official video. *sorry for all who cannot understand it* Though death is not the only feature of my beautiful home city, it is widly known that "Death is a Viennese", and "All Saints' Day is the Austrian's secret National Day". I think this song is shining with it's balance between funny and grave atmosphere, geaturing really ghoulish humor, so don't listen to it if you are too pathetic. This is "Der Tod" von der EAV aus dem Jahr 1987:

Have fun!

To the Winchester!

@Death and stuff;
"Es lebe der Zentralfriedhof" would have been fitting too.

Natürlich!  :D

Es lebe der Zentralfriedhof
und seine Jubilare.
Sie lieg'n und verfäul'n scho durt
Seit über hundert Jahren.
Draußt is kalt und drunt is warm
nur manchmal a bissl feucht;
wenn ma so drunt liegt, freut ma sich
wenns Grablaternderl leucht.

And Image rocks, alwasy!  :thumbsup:

Wenn wir alle hier ja deutschsprachig sind, sollen wir deutsche Klassiker aus den 90s und 80s nicht auslassen.
Erinnern wir uns an dieses?

the one which went somewhere with mimesot and Dom providing rather comical retorts to each other's posts, or ur backyard alarm alarm one?

Both were equally amusing :D.

Feel free to share if u have any favorite, interesting or even amusing 80s numbers as u did. We're open to 'em all. keeping 'em coming m8  :thumbsup:

just one request - this isnt a discussion thread, it's a music link posting thread. so if we can stay on topic it would be appreciated.
thnx in advance  :thumbsup:

**Edit** for those members who may get confused, a request to get back on topic is not contradictory, just a necessary diversion.  ;).

I guess when it comes to music, I'm pretty open:
I have an appreciation for classical music and Irish/Scottish/American folk (I was taught to play the violin and piano at an early age, so that might help), Gregorian chants, Bhangra, Klezmer as well as more 20th century "western" music too. I enjoy Woodie Guthrie and Johnny Cash (but not modern whinning yoddling Country... no no), up to all the 50-70's (Jimie Hendrix, Sting, Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin the various punk artists etc ) into the 80's and 90's (yahoo Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Toy Dolls  :lol:). Can't forget the Blues or Jazz (Mahavishnu Orchestra and John Mclaughlin for the win!~), or Ragtime (Scott Joplin  :woot:). So yeah....

You told me it would be a boad spectrum, but I'm still amazed.

But please do not restrict classical mustic to a single line, when you list so many others too. The diffenrnce beween baruque music to impresionism is much greater than the difference between country and punk, at least for versed ears.

Perhaps I'll try to play some Scott Choplin this summer :D It is a great exercise.
