Anyone know when Avatar will be coming out on bluray?

Want to say something off topic? Something that has nothing to do with Trek? Post it here.

just replace:

-white people with... white people in space

-native americans with smurfs (well smurf kitty cat hybrids)

-horsies with MASSIVE SPACESHIPS and flying dragons.

and hilarity ensues

your perspective on marriage sounds like martok's. a war, that the wife will win.

i saw pocahontas when i was a kid and the bit where the train came at the screen scared me and i didnt go cinema for years out of fear lol. i dont remember the plot.

besides that, tickets at my normal theater are only $6, + a large popcorn makes it abt $15 for two people.(again not counting soda) it would only be like $12 if its two adults w/out popcorn, and $10 if one of the people is younger than 12

but I like the crappy popcorn, as you said its part of the experience.

Jeezus! I hate you! :-p  Man, what a great deal.  In my area, Avatar is actually still being sold out 24 hours in advance.

Like my plot to kill you!?  Just kidding!  We didn't get a date, but we managed to find similarities between Pocahantas and Avatar.  Good thread IMO! :)

Despite the (huge) similarities, gf and I managed to enjoy it - in full 3D... no IMax though  :sweatdrop:

amazing special effects   but I got a bit bored by the simple and predictable plot, they could have done a better script

That's how I felt.  When the "Really Bad Thing Happened" to the Blue Monkeys, I actually yawned.  It picked up later, which helped redeem it for me, but they definitely could have spent a little more time on the plot.  That Pocahontas thing still cracks me up.  So funny whenever I read it. :D

Didn't the business guy call them blue monkeys?  But I guess smurf kitty cats works better.
