Universal Translator Please? And maybe something else too?

Post here comments, questions about the board or the site. Found bugs? What you like, what you don't like.

Question: What I need is a universal translator, is there someway we can intergrate that? You know, if someone is a spanish or german poster that it would be auto-translated?

Okay, I'm sure this could be very useful. Because I'm a single-language person here and I only know four words in spanish. Can there be a universal translator tool somewhere when the site gets fixed up? Or somethin like that?

Also I'd like to know if not that maybe could have a section to learn a language?

If you would speak more languages, you would probably know that auto translators usually give very poor translation (depends on which languages are translated to and the direction of translation). Sometimes when I read translated web pages they are more humorous than helpful. (heh, I remember one american online store which used auto translator, the shop were selling sports equipment but for some reason the translation were more like combined religious/sport text)

I think that everyone on these forums should write in English, because these forums and rest of the pages are in English.

Why are you writing in English and only? There's always a translator it is possible to use, does not it? Yes, just now, anyone who is able to both those who are able to write my opinion just as much in their native language speaking.

I speak two languages, Romanian and English. If you need to translate something from my language, I offer my help. Also, Dexter speaks 4 or 5 languages. Maybe he can help you if you ask him.  :D

Very true, Baleful!

Actually, a while back there were a lot of Germans doing bilingual posts.  I thought that was pretty cool, because I could read the English, and then try to muddle through and learn some German. :D  I've taken a few German language classes, but I'm so rusty.  Reading those posts sparked my interest to try and relearn it.

I hang my head in shame as I admit,  while I had a year of German in high school, & while I actually lived in germany seit drei Jahren ist mein deutsches Sprechen sehr schlecht

I speak Catalan, Spanish and English. Still, a reliable translator would be a useful addition.

Yeah.

Catalan is one of the languages spoken in Spain, like Galician, Bable (Asturian) or Euskera (Basque). It's a fact that a lot of Castillian Spanish try to hide.
