Why didn't you or Mal compress it? For example: with xvid compression there would be a much smaller file without significant loss in quality.

Khmmm, dunno actually :) I have never done that b4, plus I just posted the torrent that Mal created and if I mess with it, it wont work anymore, I think :S

Well, I'm a video editing noob.  This is the first time I've ever recorded anything.  I used free software, which did ok, except I'm not sure why the first 10 minutes were corrupted.  It's just a black screen and would shut down Virtualdub if I selected the wrong Key frame.  I thought any compression would lose too much of the quality, the version that is out there now is as good as if you were there.  I almost clicked on the minimap several times because I forgot that I was watching a video and not observing the game again! :P

I'll try xvid though.  And my plan when I have time is to upload this to youtube.  There's a way to get past the 100mb limit and put up to 1gb, so maybe with the xvid compression and splitting it up into 2 vids will allow for a good quality online video.  I'm really excited for you guys to see it, because putting the game into 3D mode every now and then made for some good visuals.

You can use two-pass encoding when you are converting it to xvid. By that you can archive even better quality-filesize ratio

Thanks to Zebh, I've now uploaded a compressed version of the game on Mininova, entitled "Once in a Lifetime Oppurtunity-compressed".  This link should send you to it.  It's quality is still decent, but it's only 120 MB! http://www.mininova.org/tor/2568383

Again, it might eventually be on youtube, but this is a lot easier to download, and the quality isn't reduced much.  Enjoy!

Also, it uses the Xvid codec, so you will need to download that to be able to play it.  Just google Xvid codec and download it.  It's free!

So um, since the file isn't currently being seeded and thus I can't watch it, I'd like to know - who won?

Sooooo, could someone upload an uncompressed version to A2 Filefront?  :sweatdrop: I can't figure out Vuze... :crybaby:

Well, the difference in quality is negligible between the compressed and the uncompressed.  The only reason I see a quality difference is because I've seen the video about 50 times making sure that everything was ok before I uploaded it.  I'm seeding the 120 mb one still, and I'm hoping that others will do the same.  :)
