The Monsoon!

Think about it, it has a new special that hasn't got an image yet - just a dev placeholder.

:woot:.

Actually myles, If I may be so bold, I think maybe there is no warp-in at all!  Think about it, with the race redo's warpin perhaps got a major overhaul, and is in a much different role....  and the lovely galaxy reigns supreme!

Oh, and i forgot: About the Sovereign. It's a bit hard for now to exlpain which profile it will have, as the SOvereign is now in a new role to better fit the image of a flag ship, like many players suggested on the forums. It's an interesting and powerful command flagship without becoming a planet blaster, like one would expect from a Klingon or Romulan dreadnought perhaps. It's still USS Sovereign, not USS Widowmaker :) Yet we are confident that the new Sovereign will fit well into the Federation image. But i will of course write a newspost dedicated to the Sovereign just for you! ^-^

Cool thing. The widowmaker-profile is solely implemented for the Reman Scimitar map-object then?

No-Warp-In has been desired by many non-fed-players... however Warp-In isn't the problem, the problem is and always has been that the Warp-In-vessels are acquired for free (the supply loss does hurt, but ... )

If you wanna get down to it... the Sovereign is a defensive gunboat... the strongest shields, second strongest hull rating if not THE strongest hull.. and the most advanced and powerful weapons.. but not a god ship by any means... When a Sovereign arrives on the battle field...the battle is pretty much over....cuz all enemy ships will target her..which frees up your destroyers and heavy cruisers with their torpedo weapons to shred enemies into dust...

I think "warp in's" should still come back.  Just 1 ship at a time.  No special ships or anything like that.  It is a call to the nearest ship within your sector.  I like that.  Make to 2 new ships buildable with new technologies attained with your base builds.  The progression of ship construction should be set up this way.  Say, the Monsoon, for example, you can build with a level 2 up on your tech base for the basic Monsoon class.  Advance to level 3 tech, and you can now build Monsoon class with 1 added ability.  Reach the 3rd level and you gain another added ability.  And so on...

At least, that would seem reasonable.  Better shields and hulls for each ship built with better levels as well seems a better way to beef up the fleet, rather that research a tech and ALL ship are instantly retro fit.  Make them dock for any retro fit.  That would be kinda cool actually.  Easy enough to do as well.

Just my thoughts here....

Hehehe. Blame Ray.. he opened that door :p

Seriously though, removing the warp-in would be a massive loss for all factions. As for the buildable nova refit.. i think all has been said in that topic in suggestions a while back.

We'll this is a logical transistion, a defensive profile ship would not have a offensive profile weappon..

i wonder what it will be though? :whistling:

maybe turn shields off to save power.

effects: shields turn off (duh), that is all. weapon automatically triggers every 3 seconds even on green weapons setting.
