That's really cool. Such a "small" change with so much effect on gameplay. Federation/Klingon teams will be so much more cool with their combined powers :)

i love the idea of supporting big d with defiant.

and the stacking of buffs will make things tighter and more fun to micro.

Awesome. Hopefully this will allow newer or novice players to get help from more advanced players, and advanced players to get benefits in the process.

rather than make a ship have extra torpedoes for a longer amount of time, would it make more sense for it to have an amount that counts down until they are all used up? (kinda like the Teutoburg special)but yeah this all sound great

Impressive Features. Impressive indeed. I love the idea that a Stratagy can be dependant on two players to work. with each player building a part of the compisition. This will encourage more cooperative and dynamic team play. Instead of just massive fleets moving around.

While the idea is good, I expect that random teams will suffer from that cause some people dont care about discussing strategies at all. And with such a small community, it means that team games will be even more unbalanced from the start without many possibilities to compensate in-game.

Can't wait to see how it turns out. Things like the stacking buff durations make my nerd-heart pump faster.

"With such a small community" means you can actually get to know the people, which includes discussing strategies, instead of having random anonymous guys in a large one. And it even does balance more, due the fact that you know the players skill.

I agree though with the discussing part, that happens more rarely every day, but hey, these new features might revive more fancy and cheesy team strats, wouldn't you agree?
In the end the Devs give the possibilites, it's up to us to use them. :)

P.S.: the stacking buffs are just lovely.

'd love to play it one final day. :P The concept is really promising! I like the idea to combine team play and special weapons in that way... feels much more like you gain a huge advantage once you have a sense of team play. Not just riding the own ego. I wonder how the AI will make use of this... is it adaptive to your abilities/ships or does it only turn out to be "blast by chance" just because the AI uses one special ability that synergizes with your fleet?

Provisionally welcome this, as long as unbalanced and super-cheesy strategies get toned down.

Please define super-cheesy ^^

Nominally, cheesy in an RTS is anything that you felt was unfair and defeated you before you supposedly had a chance to fight back...
