Anyways, which screenshot do you mean?
//www.fleetops.net/images/Gallery/ ... ssment.png
this one?
I can clearly see everything ???

the one in the top right seems to be in the grey "fog of war", the person taking the screenshot being the romulan player would then see it darker,i think

I presume you opened the newspost thread here: //www.fleetops.net/news/item/230-p ... digm-shift :)
You can only modify posts outside of this thread.

Feel free to set up a new thread MadHatter :)

@ jmclarnonSOFA1, it is highly doubtful that is possible: the AI just is not capable of using many types of units, and we want the AI to be competitive - so it has to have a few advantages ;).

I get that glitch (where the colours don't appear) too. it happens when i have low bandwidth available and the page loads slowly (like when downloading big files). it usually fixes itself after a few seconds as it finishes loading. sometimes the fancy fonts aren't applied for a few seconds either.

New idea: How about giving construction ships and newtons the ability to tow a platform. This would certainly make them more viable for map control and harassment.

it would require a lot of balancing tweaks, but i think it's a great idea. we saw a ship tow platforms in legacy (i feel sick uttering that name). i think it could work.

if it needed to be nerfed, it could be restricted to late game/"big" ships, like galaxy/sovvie.

Not a fan of that idea.
Would end up in hardcore turret walking all over the map - you can already do that of course, but currently it would be still limited due ressource and supply drain, for building new ones.

The E2 is basically a moving turret already, for this kind of gameplay.

Even if just restricted to late game ships, someone could still easily turtle up, but with this idea he doesn't even need a fleet to engage the enemy. Would possibly completely wreck the balancing of turrets, which are quite strong for their cost, but obv. immobile.

it's definitely a lot of rebalancing work.

also i forgot to mention that this might be relevant for all races. as they all have tractor beams to tow light structures at impulse.

speed would have to be severely cut when towing.

personally i'd love to see teaming up several "large" ships to tow other structures (at a crawl of course). ds9 managed to move slowly without help. with help, it might be interesting to see new strategies from towing structures. but that is massive change it the game, so shouldn't be something taken lightly.

a light repair yard capable of self propulsion would be something fun for the romulans. no building ships, and reduced repair rate, and the station has to be sitting still to do it, and maybe it doesn't give all crew back, just a fixed number. also it would take up the special building slot, so no cloak gen/intel, maybe unique for the third romulan avatar.. feds already have the newton for repairs on the go, i don't like the idea of stock a2 where every race had a clone of other races' repair ships.
