Well currently the scouts don't rank up at all but unless they have a cloaking device they usually don't last to long anyway.

DOCa Cola wrote:from my gameplay point of view: it's the only station that has an experience level. that makes it of course quite unique, so it doesn't need to be treated equal to vessels, which this feature is targeted for.
my realism view: the station doesn't gain experience through direct combat like vessels do, so it doesn't need a veteran level.
so i am against the intelligence center to have the veteran level.

OK, and what about the other classes I mentioned?

I think (and this is a special issue for the federations, who always stick to humanity) the uncloakable scouts should get some mode, which lets them avoid anything, that can shoot, in wide circles.

Or just build new ones...
I had an idea the other day, ok here goes. You pick a ship to be a veteran, then that vessel destroys many other ships. So it receives a distinction similar to the way the military does now. So instead of just being a veteran Defiant it is now a Bronze Star veteran Defiant (or something along those lines). I had one more idea for this, sometimes your ships just barely escape before they are destroyed. So i was thinking something like having purple heart ships. these vessels would not have to have an increase in stats, but it would be cool if they did. I just thought it would be a good idea for one of the future patch (Not the next one, I am very excited for what the next patch will bring and want it to come out as soon as possible). Anyway what does anyone think about it?

Hmmm... The "purple heart" style idea would be really cool, but that's already pretty much what the experience ratings are for! Plus, it would be easy to just fire on your own ships beside the shipyard then repair them.

And the idea of having even higher ranks is good too, but perhaps instead there should be two or three tiers of the "selected" ranks? As in, you have 8 sovvys. You level however many of them to maximum rank, then select three of those and make them flagships. Having three flagships allows you to designate one of those for an even higher rank, limited to either one or one for every three flagships.

But god, that would require so many sovereign odfs...

True i guess i dont even know if it could be done however if there is no improvement in the ships stats there is no real reason to do it.

That sounds cool but they should be quite a bit harder to rank up after your ship becomes a veteran.

I´m wondering how many "slots" the different ship classes cost to become veteran and how many "slots" one does get. Also the numbers could be adjusted for certain avatars, to make it more likely to have veterans that fit the purpose of the avatar.

You picturing a giant fleet of Veteran B'rel?

Well, Optec said there were 20 total slots and that the B'rel costs 3 while the Sovereign costs 8. We'll just have to wait for the other 80 some odd ships of the factions  B).

I want 6 Veteran B'rel, and a scout commanded by a Da'har Master.  :)

6 B'rel would be 18 slots and scouts cannot be veteran.

Doesn't mean I can't want it!

I'd like to see scouts able to level up, and see the lengths players would go to in a desperate bid to level a scout.
