All the bug changes and improvements seem nice, but...
Won't the borg be underpowered now?
the "damage reduction" is too little to compensate because they had many other things nerfed, and yet, over all of that, cost-increased, and, for the ultra-nerf, assimilators getting very supply-costly even for "assimilate" directive players. Reduction of benefits and increase of costs, for my points of view, should have been more... conservative? Mild?
This seems to me like the typical case of what I like to call "over-counterbalance", when one thing is deemed to strong, but then is changed in such way as to be too weak because the values of it's strength were initially overestimated. I don't think borg were so abusive before; they were very vulnerable in the early game (and now much more so) and their ships wouldn't gain experience or levels. As for the "speed boost" for small ships (including all the other races, where they got a far more relevant part), the borg are actually the ones less benefited by it because many of those ships could already transwarp making speed, as they would put it, "irrelevant".
Anyways I trust that with time this will become more evident in net games and thus may be balanced in next releases and/or patchs. I have considerable faith in that the developers can and will realize this with time as they are really intelligent. It's only a matter of time for the fix to come I speculate, which they already have to do to correct the crashes reported.
