its possible to slip through between two pings, if you have a fast vessel. the ping itself is to fast, happens close to instant. we are currently thinking about if we want that, thats still on the evaluation list. sadly we have many things to test and validate at once for the next, large patch :)

Hmmmmm...... should there also be a chance when a cloaked ship kight not be pinged? :whistling:

don't like this idea at all, i think it will cause balance issues.

balance has been adjusted of course. the Romulans and the Klingons got reworks, to reflect the new power of cloaking ^-^

But there is a code that says "I am unable to be pinged" right? I'll need it 4 the Scimitar I'm working on. Plus there is also another project... :shifty:

I doubt a perfect cloak is possible.

>:( Well, Geordi said that the Scimitar had a perfect cloak!

Geordi wasn't programming Fleet Ops...

Geordi also doesn't have access to the total knowledge of the Borg Collective.  Gotta be some freakish scan-mode the Borg know about that can punch through.

Cube 7341 engaging inverse multi-spacial metaphasic scan.  Target acquired.  Commencing assimilation.

vessels will always be detected by the graviton-tachyon pings. vessels with advanced cloak will slip through normal tachyon ping networks

Ooooh... *Speaks with gravelly 10th Kingdom-esque troll voice* Nicey-Nice. I'm guessing that the tachyon-pings are now an AOE weapon?

I really like this idea in terms of attacking/defending bases. The only concern that I have is that mobile ships won't have the graviton-tetryon cloak detector (i.e. the second-level).

This pretty much means that a group of Warbirds can trail a Federation/Dominion/Borg/Noxter/Cardassian/etc attack fleet and wipe them out at the least convenient time.

Even with the balancing, there has to be a counter for that. At the very least, the Venture, Monsoon or the Newton should have an upgrade option for the Advanced Cloak. I am in the favor of Newton (being a ship that's limited to 3 in the game) or Moonson (whos special weapon is useless in the mid to late game)

I'd say that the best counter to it is for your fleet to head for the klingon or romulan base, and if you don't see a big fleet around to defend it, start eating their outlying buildings.  They'll decloak to fight you then, pretty much guaranteed.  Just keep back from the remaining static defenses, and force them to fight on your terms.

Other options involve regularly moving through sections of space where you have grav-grids up and running.

After all, remember that the point of the changes are to make cloaking mean something again, instead of being utterly useless by midgame.

also, the moonsoon gets modificated to become more useful; it will be moved to the techtree-place where the saber is now and the saber will get pushed up.

I'm sure the Borg will get Graviton Sensors...... though... I'm not going to have the Scimitar at a 100% chance for them... maybe a 90... there is always a chance of luck.... :shifty:
